Pom peered down from her spot on Derek’s shoulder. She was quickly realizing that she wasn’t particularly fond of the sewers. At least they’d remained close to the entrance so they could leave quickly if needed. According to Cloak things had gotten a little… sketchy when they’d gone so it was likely that Derek was trying to be cautious. Which Pom could get behind! She didn’t really want to go too deep into the sewers anyway.

Today they were here for a specific reason though: looking for pokemon. Derek was gripping the container of honey as he looked around for a proper place to use it. Now honey was typically applied to trees, or at least that’s how Pom thought it worked, but clearly there were no trees down here. “Maybe I can just leave this thing open…” Derek mumbled looking down at the honey container.

Pom nodded in agreement even though Derek wasn’t looking at her. Honey was something that very few pokemon could ignore, and the scent of it traveled easily. She just hoped it could be smelt over the other… scents down here. She trilled at him and once he looked at her she gestured for him to open it. While she enjoyed spending time with her trainer she’d be happy to do it pretty much anywhere rather than here. “Getting impatient already?” Derek rose an eyebrow at her. “I guess I get it. I don’t want to be here any longer than we have to either. But unfortunately there are things down here we can use.” He frowned. “The sooner we find those things though the sooner we don’t have to come back here. Rough has already put his foot down about coming here so my list of you all actually willing to come with me is dwindling fast.”

Pom nodded along. Yeah she’d heard Rough complaining. The mightyena hadn’t even been brought to the sewers. Usually Derek brought Cloak since the piplup hybrid didn’t seem to mind it too much. Pom was actually pretty unsure as to why Derek brought her and not him; she was sure there was a reason behind it though. With a heavy sigh Derek cracked open the container holding the honey. Pom shifted on her feet in excitement as the smell hit her. She controlled herself though; she knew it wasn’t for her.

He placed it on the ground and stepped back. “I guess we just have to wait now…” He grumbled. “More time we have to spend here…” He started to put a little distance between them and the honey. It usually worked better if you left it alone for a bit. “Hopefully the pokemon down here are quick about it.” Derek stepped in a puddle and grimaced. “I hate it down here.” Pom nodded sympathetically. She was happy that Derek was allowing her to hitch a ride with him so she didn’t have to risk getting any of… whatever was down there in her feathers.

Derek regarded a nearby wall before sighing and leaning up against it. Now all the two had to do was wait.
