It was a windy day when it happened when 52.7% of the population mysteriously disappeared three years ago. You blinked and they were gone, so some say that they were blessed others that they were damned. But they were seemingly chosen at random, not a pattern or connection between the disappeared. No one knows what caused them to go, but some say that perhaps, just maybe, it was the god pokemon Arceus that caused it.

After the Cataclysm Dawn Wings Necrozema took power hunting down and casting out the rest of the legendary pokemon, into another realm. Some now worship Dawn Wings Necrozema as a god, but they are far and few between. Many blame it for the lessening of natural phenomena, victory, luck, love, ect. There are but a few legendary pokemon left in the main dimension, Regigigas, Mewtwo, Mew, Zygard, and Solgaleo to name a few. These are pokemon too powerful to be cast out or in Zygard’s case a low priority. Solgaleo is said to be fated to defeat Dawn Wings Necrozema in a great battle, woven into the tapestries of old. Solgaleo worries about this destiny and hopes that another will take its place.

The world itself is ruinous, the large cities are for the most part intact, but people have fled them due to stability concerns. Due to a now lack of repair persons and construction workers. Electricity is no more and the only electronic devices working are from still working solar panels, and hydroelectric dams. But these are very rare. Rotom electronics still work as they are powered by the pokemon and not an outside source. International trade routes have been for the most part shut down but some are still intact transporting rare and valuable resources. Trading thus has been mostly limited to regional trades. Goods are mainly textiles, scavenged supplies, and hunting-gathering resources such as meats and berries for dyes.

Pokemon in the region have sensed a change and some have even started to go feral, like back in the days before pokemon and people lived in harmony. Even attacking the weary traveler. Average everyday animals also live in the region, they are just normal animals. But since the Cataclysm, all animals have escaped from zoos, adapting to their new habitats and causing a ruckus to both people and the environment. Although the environment is doing very well, as large-scale pollution is now nearly non-existent, but many things are now powered by fire causing smoke. But fossil fuels have decreased drastically, and cars and other vehicles are now not able to be powered without finding a gas can or taking from a gas station, but those are now nearly empty three years in.
