Regulus lives in the ancestral home of his family. It's a massive estate found in the south of France. It's more accurate to call it a castle rather than a estate. The grounds of the Castle are sprawling around, with nearly sixteen hundred acres of well-maintained land. There are extensive rose garden through the lands, along with a large forest with a stable set right by the main path to the stable. This is where Regulus keeps his beautiful collection of draft horses, specially bred for specific purposes. He takes the most pride in the collection of white stallions for his winter sleigh.

The castle itself is rather large, with more bedrooms than he can count. The entryway into the castle is grand, with draping emerald silks caressing the stone and wood architecture. Over the years, different family members have added to create the estate. There are touches of his great-great grandfather twice removed, his grandmother, his uncles and aunts, and ancestors who are so far removed he can't recall their names. In the 'entryway', a large staircase that splits into two is at the center of attention. In the split, there is a beautiful door that's centuries old. It was a gift from the medieval times, hand carved by multiple artists and inlayed the family crest with the most beautiful tones of silver. The raven in the crest has a large, sparkling emerald for an eye. The light hits the emerald at dusk on the winter solstice, and the room lights up from the effect.

The ceiling of the room is something to marvel at, as the ceiling is a massive stained-glass window with a large silver chandelier hanging down from the center. The stained glass depicts the night sky; particularly the night sky of the winter solstice. The stars are made of fine white glass, while the constellations the historical family names come from are inlaid with diamonds. Around the outer rim facing the large castle doors, you can faintly see the family motto.

The room mentioned before, with the emerald-eyed raven leads to what once was the throne room. The room was once extremely ornate, with a large silver throne sitting at the center. Now, it has been remodeled to fit the theme of the current owner. Regulus had placed the ornate furniture into the holding cells of the basement when he moved in. He didn't feel like he needed that space to exist, as he was no longer of the royal bloodline. Instead, he commissioned a group of craftsmen and craftswomen to carve him a beautiful library from the burl walnut trees that lay in the forest. The shelves hold the rarest of the books the Black family owns. First edition copies are mixed with the modern-day literature that Regulus loves. Plush pine green couches and chaise lounges are spread throughout the room, tucked into almost every nook and cranny. Trinkets line some of the shelves, from a time long passed. The few items that Regulus didn't remove were the paintings of the past lords and ladies of the castle.

When you leave that room, you can choose to go up the staircase to the left, or to the right. Going to the left will take you to an even larger library, with fireplaces spread throughout and similar designs to the prized library. To the right, you can find the entrance to the personal wing of the family. The halls are carpeted in luxurious Persian rugs that keep the green and silver tones throughout the house. Paintings sprawl across the walls, from once-famous artists that were lost to time. The flooring upstairs is a worn wood, and if Regulus had to guess, he'd say the boards would have come from the same forest the bookcases had.

Many rooms line this hallway, decorated in a generic castle-style. Large, four posted beds with individual bathrooms attached. He didn't really go into those rooms often, as there was no reason to. His staff kept them clean, along with the more lived-in rooms. His personal room lay at the end of the hallway. The door to that room was as beautiful as the throne room's door. The pattern was different, as it was an interchangeable panel. All of the firstborn children were given specific names, following the alignment of the stars. When the door was first made, the artist had carved panels for all the major constellations. Each star was inlayed with a beautiful set of gemstones, typically the stone for the month of birth. The constellation that hung on his door was Leo.

In a little hidden door next to his bedroom door was a rickety ladder. It should have been replaced decades ago, but the worn wood felt comforting every time he climbed it. The ladder leads to the observatory, the largest spire on the castle. The observatory consisted of a viewing deck on the upmost floor, and a massive telescope on the second. This is the most updated room, as the telescope cost Regulus a good chunk of change. He adores studying the stars and trying to mark down the family history found within the constellations. Unlike the normal public, a series of books was written centuries ago, detailing legends and lore of his family. Each constellation had the same name, but completely different lore. Regulus has many journals cross-referencing the lore of his family to the commonly accepted lore. Many of the stories seem similar, as if the two had fused at one point in history. He will not let this rest until he finds the answer to which set of stories came first.
