A Small Horse: 2023

It was once again another year at the Life Carnival, and it happened to be Ambrosia's first year attending. It was only months ago since Phoenix found them while on his patrol, so he felt obligated to spend his patrol time this year helping her have the best first year at the carnival. Many stalls with many prizes were apparent, and Ambrosia was staring at everything in awe. Phoenix would normally spend it with Lyric or even one of his co-workers, but this was the first time he really could spend it with family outside of when he was a little kid.

"Hey! Big bro! Look!" Ambrosia tugged on her brother's arm, as he looked in the direction that they were pointing. It was the horse-holding stall. The stall was quite popular with Scytairs, with the opportunity to hold quite strange small-scale horses. They were only the size of a palm, which came to be quite charming to all those who came around. Phoenix sighed and walked Ambrosia over to the stall, with the younger being quite excited to hold a little horse. Ambrosia looked at all the little horses there was, some were brown with white spots, some were black, some were a blondish color, and some were even white. She remembers that when she was still living in the forest, she'd look out to the countryside farms and see horses run around the vast amount of land, with an abundance of grass to graze upon. Alas, They've never seen horses this small.

"Ambrosia, go ahead and hold your hands out." Phoenix snapped her out of her own thoughts, to which they held out their hands. The Scytair manning the stall put a small horse in her hand, which simply laid down in their hands. Ambrosia gently pulled her hands closer to her, looking at the horse closely. It was a brown horse with a white-tipped muzzle. The horse rubbed their face against her hand, which caused Ambrosia to squeal in delight. Phoenix has never seen her this excited before, especially about something that small. He wouldn't admit it made him feel even just a little bit happy to see this from her.

"Big bro! Look at how small this horse is! Aren't they cute? Oooh! I wonder if people ever could adopt some... I think if you had the right area, they'd be great pets no?" Ambrosia looked at her brother, looking for an answer. Much to their dissatisfaction, he gave quite a straightforward answer.

"I'm sure there are people who have such small horses as pets, but I'm going to say it's not exactly a common want." He sighed but frowned when he saw her disappointment, nevertheless, he shook his head.

"Hey, what if I said there are some shaped cotton candy at a stall around here." When Phoenix said that, Ambrosia's frown became a wide smile, and they carefully put the tiny horse back with the others. As he began to take her over to the Cotton Candy Stall, she waved goodbye to the Scytair manning the stall, skipping along.
