Wafflepaw yawned, stretching her paws out in front of them, their mentor, leapflower, waiting outside for them. They giggled and ran up to her “At this rate with how late you're waking up you will never be a warrior!” Leapflower muttered. They exited the camp, walking towards a river. “Sit still and wait for the fish to swim by.” Leapflower muttered, wafflepaw nodded at her and waited by the water, staring at it as smaller fish went by. She suddenly spotted a huge fish and leaped a paw at it, it slapped around in their paws for a second, slapping their whiskers before splashing back into the water. Wafflepaw looked at their mentor with a sad look. “it's ok... we can try again. So, they did. Leapflower gave wafflepaw a smile as they held a small fish in their jaws. 

They walked back to camp and heard commotion, the leader, carpstar was calling everyone down. “MY KITS ARE MISSING!” a queen screamed, tears in her eyes, as the father comforted her. “I'm sending 2 patrols out, calm down forestbark. This gave wafflepaw an idea. She quickly snuck away before anyone could realize 

She followed the kit’s scent, the crackle of leaves under her paw gave her a jump, she thought it was the kit's and called out their names. “birdkit? Bubblekit?” She walked next to the river, looking around nervously. If she finds the kits, then she will become a warrior for sure! She heard the sound of kitten wails and ran to the sound, gasping in horror at the two kits stuck in the river 

She leaped into the water, soaking her fur, she shivered but pressed forward. She tried to grab onto bubblekits scruff, but she fell out of her grasp. She roughly grabbed birdkit with her paw. She bit down onto her tail and dragged her head above the surface. The small kitten wailed as she screamed for her sister's name. “BUBBLEKIT! BUBBLEKIT IS BEING SWEPT AWAY!”. Wafflepaw lifted the wailing kit onto the bank and swam back down and saw bubblekit slowly sinking. She grabbed the kit, and they swam back up.  

Wafflepaw looked around at her clanmates as they swarmed around them. She smiled at the two kits, who were shivering next to their mother. She stared up at her leader and looked over at her mentor. “From this moment on you shall be known as Wafflefur, starclan honors for courage.” The camp erupted into cheers. She warmly looked around her. Wafflefur felt pride, she had saved these kittens' lives.
