High school was dull, especially for Lilly, she was decently smart and got okay grades due to her occasional mental breakdown. But that seemed to be how life was for an 18 year old going on 19. Everything was boring, she kept her horses to herself after a few years of being well known by teachers as "the horse person" and as such didn't have many friends...or at least, close friends. She was a floater, hanging out with the jocks buying them snacks when they where desperate, getting on their good side and causing the school bullies to back off amongst other things. She hung with the geeks and artists for her natural love of reading, and shows. She passed the more preppy girls occasionally for tidbits and advice, even though "live laugh love" wasn't her moral code per say. Life was fine even with her bad anxiety and occasional depression spurts. It was fine, until one boy showed up in her science class one day. His name was Four snyd, it was a strange name but it didn't matter too much to anyone else, he was stunning to look at and his intellect was incredible, as was his charisma. Lilly could just die on the spot being so much as near him, he was lovely and nothing could fully change that....until she noticed somthing the others didn't. Four was usually gaped upon by women. Some asking him on dates and such all of which he would decline, but it wasn't until they had been moved to sit next to her due to the quarters change in seats that she really noticed somthing in him so evident she felt it in her gut. He was hurting, griefing, it was a shock that someone so bubbly and gentle and smart could be so in the pits of pure depression. But she knew the look, the eye bags and the now well apparent air of despair. He had been in it for awhile, unfortunately she had been staring for too long as she had reached back to her backpack to get...somthing. shit. And that's when he noticed her fully and raised an eyebrow putting his facade back on as he adjusted his glasses "is there somthing on my face?" Lilly squeaked blushing in pure embarrassment as she wrapped her hand around her chapstick, that would do. Pulling it out before responding quietly her anxiety getting the best to her "n-no no...i-i... sorry I saw somthing on the wall and...got distracted..I was trying to find..my chapstick..heh" she looked down back to her papers awkwardly as she opened up the chapstick putting some on. Not minding the strong cherry aroma it gave off before he chuckled quietly "I see....not the kind that I expected" she paused and looked to him confused blinking but before she could get a word in edgewise she was caught in the stare of those beautiful dark blue eyes through his glasses. "I would've expected somthing like...vanilla...or cupcake..." he spoke gently clearly it was just an observation rather than some sort of insult. "O-oh...heh... yeah i..think the smell is nice is all.." she smiled gently at him. After that Lilly had more encounters with four, most where during class, little gestures like occasionally borrowing a pencil or the like. She hadn't even told him her name and yet they seemed to just...click. it was strange, but Lilly didn't mind it. Mutuals was a good stage for her, though on occasion she'd feel a twinge of...somthing. she couldnt pinpoint what it was until after class one day. She had been having a horrid day and she felt as though nothing could make it better, even the comforting smell of her chapstick didn't do much as she put it on. Four glanced over and noticed how deep in it she was and blinked, having never seen her with a truely gone face until now and he was mildly stunned, and he started to talk with her with his usual charismatic tone. She didn't fully understand what he was doing, until he cracked a few shitty jokes under his breath during the lesson which almost made her loose it in a giggle fit in class. She had gripped onto his arm, only mildly regretting it feeling the well toned bicep underneath his hoodie on accident trying to get him to cut it out before she started dying of wheezes. Four only smirked mentioning another dry comment under his breath that almost made Lilly implode until luckily the class was dismissed and she let out her mild giggle fit, slumping into her own hoodie smiling brightly and near tears. Four smiled fondly at that rolling the cherry chapstick tube that had been long since left on the desk with his finger humming at the sweet little giggles that ended up hurting Lilly's abs a bit, but it felt good to laugh...and even better that he was the one who made her laugh in the first place. After that she started to fall for him, hard. It was hard not to, and she could see his original hurt and pain starting to clear up as well which she felt better at. Though, the back of her head screamed that she wasn't ever going to be good enough for him. She was just herself, what could she give in a relationship with a boy that was damn near perfect in every way? Nothing, is what she concluded. She didn't find herself pretty like the preppy girls and found herself more tomboyish than anything else..what could she give? Nothing, and as such fell into a pit of despair that attracted bullies for miles and since she had only kept up with the jocks a little that quarter, she didn't have too much protection. Four noticed her odd change decently fast, as he could smell that damn chapstick from a mile away and knew it was her comfort, the thing that brought her down to earth. but...he didn't expect it in the hall after school. A girl had come up to him trying to ask him to the mid year dance. He declined and tried his best to be polite about it but that's when he caught a whiff of it and seemed to derail from the already not interesting conversation quickly. Looking around and seeing the familiar girl put the cap back on and flip her hoodies hood over her head. In Lilly's head they where mild mutuals...but in reality they where close friends by that point. he rushed over to her grabbing her hand and dragging her into one of the class halls as she squeaked in suprised blinking looking a bit confused though blushing a bit as well "f-four?" Four didn't say anything as he looked her over quickly. Noticing her eyes where red and a bruise starting to form on her cheek. She had never seen him look so...pissed off, it was kinda scary but also confusing why he was mad. before he gently wiped her tears with his thumbs earning a bad blush which he didn't seem to notice for the time being before mumbling a decently hard "who." She paused and gulped "i-i...c she wanted to speak but was terrified, she couldnt without letting her feelings flood open as he was probably smart enough to figure it out with that tidbit of information and she didn't know if she could let it out. Before he cupped her face with both hands gingerly speaking softer "who...Lilly. tell me who hurt you" and with that she let it out. Four knew the girls that liked him in this school where ruthless. But he didn't know how harsh they could be, he heard the names and was furious, but, he was a gentleman and couldn't hit them upside the head like in a man fight. He needed to hit them emotionally, and he knew exactly how to do it. He looked over to the open hall before back to Lilly noticing her tear up again as she whent to pull away from his hold. Before he just pulled her hood back, cupping the back of her head and pressing her up against the wall. Lilly flushed red at this not knowing what to do blinking a bit as well her full focus on him now, as he smirked lightly speaking in an almost cocky tone. "Mind if I tried some of that chapstick?" Lilly opened her mouth slightly to speak before four kissed her, it was gentle and warm at first. And she couldnt help herself but wrap her arms around his neck and thread her fingers through his longer hair as her heart soared, she didn't fully know what he was doing but she was loving it nonetheless. As he smirked into the kiss letting it get a bit more passionate, pressing himself closer, staying in the kiss for longer as he felt a few eyes on him and her. No doubt the ones who had hurt her earlier as he just slid his hands down to rest on her hips before pulling away smirking a bit still. Lilly was left in a fuzzy state from the kiss panting lightly and letting a slight shiver go. Four hummed at that giving her a gentle kiss on her neck before mumbling "you like me. Dont you" she just gulped and nodded as he chuckled nuzzling against her neck kissing it again "lucky for you...that damn chapstick has driven me wild ever since we met" Lilly was just at al loss for words as she flushed red covering her face. But. She was happy, very very happy.
