Augustine was a bit late to his Identity Trial. He was concentrating more on school and studying Beanian companions and thus, "didn't have time" to do his trial. When his caretaker finally decided to convince him to do it, they bought him the supplies to make his bag and gave them to him, telling him that there'd be plenty of things to learn in the human world. He finally agreed at the prospect of new creatures to observe, and set about making his bag.

Or rather, planning his bag. He wasn't about to just dive in without knowing what he's doing, that would end up with lots of wasted materials and a bag that's likely to fall apart! So the first thing he did was go to a library and read about sewing, then went home, took stock of his supplies, and sketched up a plan. When he finally finished making his bag and was happy with it, he packed, hugged his caretaker and set off to Fabian's.

Getting the cookie and going through the portal was rather uneventful, as he had asked various others about how the process works. However when he got to the human world... He was unfortunate enough to end up somewhere very cold! He was prepared for the possibility, though, and dug through his stuff to pull out a coat.

August looked around his bleak surroundings. Scarce vegetation, rocky terrain, and earth that was frozen and hard. Not a single living creature in sight. The dissatisfied bean pushed up his spectacles and started trekking in a random direction, hoping to find a river to follow or some hint of civilization. He doubted anyone would be crazy enough to live in this terrible place, though. Cold and empty were not favorable descriptors for a home.

After a while of walking and only having seen some birds briefly flying overhead, he suddenly paused at hearing a weird sound a little ways off. It almost sounded like thunder. He looked up at the sky, but there wasn't any storm clouds in sight. He listened carefully to the sound and followed the direction it came from.

Upon coming to a slight ridge, he looked out upon an amazing sight! Creatures that vaguely reminded him of an Alpha Pelsaur were traveling across the land. A whole herd of them, their heavy-hooved gait creating that thunderous sound he heard. He eagerly dug in his pack for his notebook and pen and drew up a sketch, followed by any observations he made. He followed the herd from a distance for a while, noting down anything he learned and saw. Later, when he does finally come across humans, he learns that they are called Yaks.

During Augustine's stay in this place he learned is called Tibet, he sees many more creatures than he expected in such a place, including various hooved creatures, wolves, and he even spotted a snow leopard once, though briefly! If he didn't know what a creature was called, he would show his sketches to locals and ask them when he returned to town. On one day in particular, he was following (at a distance) a large fluffy ursine, a rare Tibetan Blue Bear. He couldn't believe his luck at seeing such a rare creature. The bear seemed a little wary of him, but since August kept his distance, it seemed to decide he wasn't a threat and just lumbered on it's way.

Augustine was excitedly finishing another sketch of the bear, when he glances up at it to see something near the bear that hadn't been there before. Looking at the small canine that was now following the bear, only a handful of feet away from it, he could tell by the low gait and bushy tail that it was some sort of fox. Foxes were common enough creatures that he'd read about them back in Beania, but he hadn't seen this one before. It looked slightly thicker than most foxes, and it had a distinctive broad head. It's eyes were perpetually narrowed in a calculating gaze. August locked eyes with the fox at one point. He set his journal down and just held the vulpine's stare for a while, his heart racing. Eventually, the fox broke the stare and continued on, keeping a slight distance from the bear, but far closer to it than August himself would dare to go.

The fox continued to follow the bear for a long time, August following the odd pair as well. After a while, he heard a familiar shrill noise. He'd heard the warning calls of the Pikas many times by now. By the time the pair of hunters got close to the Pikas, they were obviously already hiding in their holes. Not a single rodent in sight. August stood amazed, eagerly jotting information down, as he saw the bear's powerful claws start to dig up the frozen earth to try and get at the prey beneath. The fox just stood a distance away, watching. August felt a little sorry for it. He doubted it would be able to take the prey out from under the giant bear's claws.

The studious Bean worried prematurely, however. The fox crouched and walked further from the bear, finding another hole. It stayed there silently for a minute before suddenly lunging at the hole. A horrid screech was heard from the direction of the fox, and it lifted it's head from the hole to show that it had snatched a Pika trying to escape the bear through the back entrance! August was impressed by the fox's smarts and planning as it trotted away with it's catch, leaving the bear with it's unsuccessful hunt. He wrote about this event extensively in his notes.

When he returned back to Beania, he gave Fabian a copy of his notes that he had written during his stay. Fabian looked daunted by the sheer amount of information he had collected, and Augustine was proud by this fact. His notes were very extensive and thorough.
