" She needs antibiotics for a while too. Everything is written down in  here. " spoke the woman, tapping her nail on the paper twice,  her lips  pursed and a scowl upon her face as she looked to him. He had to admit,  he hadn't made the best impression when he had came rushing in,  screaming for someone to help the Gengar. When he had kept bugging them  whilst she had been in surgery, asking what was going on, if she was  going to be okay.  He had to admit, he hadn't been the easiest 'waiting  trainer' in that room. " I don't know WHAT you did to get her in such a shape, but I'll have to  remind you that battles to the death are illegal. "

" I did NOT participate in anything like that. " he near snarled at the  woman, shoulders hunching up as he snatched the paper from the counter  and stuffed it into his pocket, where his phone was giving a light  buzzing noise, almost comforting.

" She's still asleep. I advise to put  her back in-- "

" I told the other guy she doesn't h a v e one. "

" Is she wild? "

" No. She's mine. "

" Then why-- " She opted on shutting up when a glare was shot her way,  icy blues BURNING. Too much. Tonight, everything had been too much. This  was the last straw. He was about ready to grasp her by the collar and  shake her around a bit to make her SHUT. UP. And yet at the light  clicking noise behind him, he bit down that urge, instead taking a deep  breath and closing his eyes. " Can I... Just p l e a s e have her back...? I promise I'll let her r e  s t... "

 "Michael..."

He knew. He K N E W.

And before he knew it, he was outside of the center, the sun beating down on his face, gently holding the sleeping Gengar to his chest. Her arm was gone, undoubtedly. Couldn't be saved... But she was alive, atleast there as that. She was alive. But--  A swallow, he finally looked to King, who dipped his head down once and finally sank to the ground so the other could get on with little problem, without shifting the Gengar too much. Moved upward to the sky, he didn't need to hear Michael's words to know where he needed to go. The look on the other's face had been enough.

Do you want me to help you?

How long ago had it been since he heard that voice crackling in the dead of night, the voice that had promised nothing good. How pissed off had he been with her in the aftermath of it all? And she didn't stop following him. She didn't stop bugging him. She had cackled and she had twisted and turned, rejected every Pokeball thrown at her. She had been a MENACE. A Gremlin. And thus it had been what he had dubbed her. Gremlin. It hadn't been easy, she never made it easy. But she had proven to be loyal, atleast there was that. She was a bitch, she was blunt, she poked fun at him, she laughed and she cackled and sounded like one's worst nightmare, she spooked people and she played around and-- and God she was dear to him... She was dear to him and he didn't want to lose her. He didn't want her to ever get in a situation like this again. Not her. And God he wished he could just go home... He just wanted to go home. But what if home was two separate people? What if home meant endangering one or the other? He knew the choice he had made that day. He knew it had been a severe one ( perhaps he hadn't realized just how severe ).

What  if there was no coming back from this? What if there was no happy  ending after all? What if there was no road to redemption? What if he fucked up too bad this time?

The figure in his arms shifted slightly, a groggy eye peering up at him  and he didn't realize WHY until another droplet spattered on her nose.

O h...

"Home...?" murmured the gengar drowsily, patting at Mike's cheek with  the clawed hand she still had. "Goin'home to Tar-Tar an' Menar'i...?"

And he wept, sobs wrecking his body as he bowed over the figure of the  Gengar protectively, clutching onto a few feathers of King to keep him  rooted to the bird's back as they flew.

H o m e...

" Yes, Grem... Yes... " he managed to crack out. " Yes, we're going  home. "

But he knew he couldn't stay.

That didn't mean SHE couldn't...
