The winds howled and tore through the twelve realms, rain thundered down drenching either that stepped out of its shelter into the open storm. Was this a sign from the gods? Was it a show of their anger? What were they angry for? Nobody could answer those questions.

Angelica was sitting in her office on yet another late night with a lantern as the only light-source for the whole unpretentious dismal little room. She was signing papers for arrangements of the rapidly approaching, coming-of-age party for her young nephew who was turning 25, which is the usual age of the graduation of a solder. Unfortunately she wasn't invited to the part, Angelica was looking forward to it. She had never really meet her nephew due to her younger brother Uriel not letting his child speak or do anything other than what Uriel was teaching him. What was that exactly? Angelica had no idea.

The only time she had properly had a good look at her nephew was when he was eight years old, he was attempting to run away from the palace. Angelica must admit, it was very good attempt, he ran all the way to the northern border of the Zephron empire, which is a three day walking trip. Though travel by flight or by Chronos’ it was a 3 hour trip. She had brought him back to the palace and Uriel had been furious that she had gotten involved in the matter.

He had screamed at her for hours, Angelica was somewhat annoyed about the whole thing. She had brought him back to the safety of the palace and she got in trouble for it? And besides Uriel was her younger brother. Wasn’t she supposed to be the one having a talk to him about looking after his child? She had gotten over her irritation quite quickly. Uriel was right, It wasn’t exactly her place to get involved and she needed to respect her brothers boundaries. Besides Angelica wasn’t even quite sure if her nephew knew that she was his Aunt or if he even had an Aunt. Or an Uncle for the matter.

She paused for a moment and sighed. Angelica often wondered what her older brother was doing. Did he think about her too sometimes? She wished things were different. She wished they could all have been the happy family they were always thought to be, with mother and father as well. Their family was never really happy to begin with. To outsiders, it seemed like a wonderful wholesome family that cared and loved each other. But everyone that was close to the royals knew of the fake smiles and hugs, the torn relationships and the masks that were worn. The abuse and manipulation that went on throughout the golden and marble walls.
