Realm of Aardera

Aardera has never been a peaceful place when it comes to societal manners. The unending conflict has always been there and almost never ends, from disorder, corruption, war, and poverty, Aardera has it all. As if it’s not the worst, something much worse took place: The Great Massacre, a world war that resulted from overpopulation and resource crisis, making the societal conditions much worse than before. The war led to the creation of a mysterious superweapon; The Annihilator, an explosive weapon designed not just purely for destruction but also to rejuvenate the withering ecosystem as an aftermath, it was carried by semi-sentient mind-piloted war beasts called Celesturions. The Annihilator destroyed many settlements, people, and landmass, but the war still went on. Yet as it continued, most militaries became less and less powerful due to losing people and resources, which soon led them to be overpowered by an unexpected enemy; The Hirveols. These were monstrous bioweapon experiments that breached out of a research facility and quickly multiplied, many enough to eradicate armies due to their regenerative and invisibility abilities. The effects of the war, the Annihilator, and the appearance of Hirveols were all too much for the dwindling humanity to bear, finally leading to the end of the 3 years of warfare. As the planet is slowly recovering from its destruction, it was discovered that the explosion of the Annihilator caused mutation to a few portions of humans that they called the Regens.

In the present day, most people have lived in the mountains to evade the ravaging Hirveols. Though the societal problems have been somehow reduced after The Great Massacre, it left many places in ruins and huge craters which will forever remind humanity of how far their nature can affect the world. As of today, all humans ever wanted to do is to rebuild the civilization they lost. Among the regens however, their very lives continued to be in peril as some humans hunted them down for various reasons and beliefs, so they kept their identities a secret, blending in among societies.
