Lianna’s legs gave way and she collapsed to the earth out of exhaustion, the damp soil smeared all over her face and her clothes uncomfortably clung to her body. Rain poured down through the towering trees that swayed in the howling wind. She’s been flying and walking for days, she has barely eaten or slept, though the thought of eating something was foreign to her at the moment. She felt as if she was going to throwing up. Every part of her body hurt to the point she couldn’t even put one foot in front of the other or move her wings anymore. Lianna desperately hauled herself over to the cover of a hollow tree with great agonising effort.

A wave of relief spread over Lianna’s as she relaxed her body in the safety of the hollow, the roots making a surprisingly comfortable resting place. A thick glaze of fog covered the forest she laid in. Lianna had no idea where she was, though if she had to guess it was close to the border of the kingdom since she had recently passed a scouting post which are placed on the borders.

Lianna hadn’t thought about what would happen after she’d left Zephron, all she knew that Uriel was desperately looking for her since she had spotted several parties. She felt a twinge of guilt. They had been through so much together. But she had no choice, after Uriel was crowned king something snapped in him.

He wasn’t as kind and sweet as he was previously before the uprising against his father with Sariel and Angelica. The power had gotten to his head and the war with his brother was out off hand. It was almost like he was obsessed with finding Sariel and destroying him and everything he cares about. Lianna still loved Uriel… but he wasn’t the same anymore. He scared her.

Lianna’s gaze wavered, sleep was dragging her in. She sighed, hoping that things were different when she woke up. She was with Uriel and their little son, Arthur. Laughing and enjoying each other’s embrace. She drifted off the sleep holding herself in her arms.
