Charmie was a quiet sprout when he was in Florespar. Sprouting in an area with a high amount of magic that permeated his runic as he grew into the, still very young, Ursuki he was now. As soon as he sprouted, his leaf slightly damaged where a pippet must have nibbled on it, he raised his head to the sky, and was immediately bombarded from all sides by sounds, sights, smells, ratcheting up in intensity until- he blinked- and it went quiet again. Charmie stood in a clearing near Florespar, a large pink and purple vespire a few feet away, watching him carefully.

He blinked again, sights and sounds overlaying her face as eons seemed to happen in the blink of an eye.

Terrified by this new occurrence, he rushed to Vespilet, burying his large claws in her thick neck fur, sobbing into his paws, even as textures ran over his claws that were not soft fur. The grit of mountains, the cold shock of a river, even the gentle feeling of love that warmed him from the inside out, but in a weird facsimile, it wasn’t the love for him that he was feeling, more the love that Vespilet had inside herself.

Softly, Vespilet pet his back, pulling his head back to look in his eyes.

“Are you ok sweetheart?” Her eyes scanned his small form, looking for injuries or magical issues.

“It… help!” Charmie didn’t know how to explain what he was feeling, he just wanted it to stop.

Vespilet suddenly realized the issue. Charmie had extreme prescience.

Over the next couple weeks, as he stayed in the orphanage, new people came in, looking to take other babies away to their families, but the whole time, Charmie hung back. It didn’t look good to go up to someone, and have to see their whole life story, both what has happened and will happen. Sure, Charmie wanted to have a small family, staying around so many other people wreaked havoc on his mind, but every time he came up to someone new, he was just so overwhelmed with potential futures.

There was something coming in the near future, the visions Charmie saw were full of darkness and fear. Even as young as he was, life seemed so harsh even when he hid in his soft nest with other kids, all of whom were carefree and calm.

Vespilet was a deitysend, gently allowing him time to be alone, and sometimes guiding potential parents to other children when all Charmie could see scared him stiff.

Finally, one day, three normal people entered the building, the vespire and ursuki towering over the kids while the bloom with them seemed to almost zero in on Charmie.

Charmie noticed Vespilet drawing the large vespire away, greeting him with an ursuki style hug before talking to him in a lowered voice. Charmie got glimpses of a past journey, of the large green and brown vespire and Vespilet travelling over mountains and fields towards Florespar until he was distracted again by the young bloom.

“Hi!” She was sweet and young, though he saw in the flashes around her a busy life. An older bloom trying to keep her safe, a capricorn vespire nudging an adult form of the bloom in happiness while they walked the aisles of a fair, a flash of light that lit up a forest shocking away a creeping darkness, and then…

He saw her gently helping him up when he had hurt his paw in the future. The darkness of the other visions he had been getting being chased away by the big ursuki while the vespire protected both the bloom and himself. The feeling of a breeze rippled his leaf as the feeling of soft fur and feathers brushed his side.

For the first time, he saw his own future with others, and he felt like he could survive anything with his family by his side.
