Timbrel adjusted the strap of her bag over her shoulder briefly before scurrying out across the warm sand towards where Requiem sat beneath a wide open parasol, shielding himself from the sun in any way he could possibly manage. She held a small tray of goods balanced carefully in one hand that contained refreshments for their enjoyment. Freshly squeezed lemonade made from sweet starburst lemons sat in a glass that chimed lightly with each step she took as the ice inside clinked to and fro. Little paper umbrellas and colorful straws acted as decorations for the fruity, chilled beverages. Just beside them were two plates of fried crisp talon fish, their crusts seasoned, crackly, and perfectly toasted, both topped with a special flavorful sauce and accompanied by a side of homemade fries. She could smell the food and was eager to dig in, so Timbrel quickened her pace and called out to Requiem, getting the large, morbid Astrean's attention as she approached.

Requiem would turn towards the sound of her voice. Their eyes would meet and Timbrel would smile pleasantly up at him. "Requiem, I brought food!" She would say with a delighted ringing in her voice. Even when she was not singing, there was still a melodic sort of tune to her words, like a bird chirping happily from its nest. Requiem could only assume that it must be a side effect of her speech aspect... "Here, this ones for you." She would say before carefully taking her place beside him beneath the shade and setting the tray lightly down on the sand, careful so as not to spill anything. With ginger hands the tiny bird would lift a glass and a plate and turned towards Requiem to offer him his share of the food she had brought. "You should eat, it's good for you. And I promise it's tasty too!" Handing off the dish to him before scooping up her own plate in her hands, she would watch to catch his reaction.

Waiting in hushed silence, she would observe as he took a small, tentative bite, testing the flavor as he carefully chewed and swallowed before deciding that the meal was good and digging in for seconds. Her tail would wag once, lazily, behind her and she would beam. He seemed satisfied enough and so, pleasedly, she would turn her attentions towards her own plate of food. Picking up the fried fish in both hands and taking a large bite out of the delicate meat. It was heavenly. The seasonings added to the skin only serving to enhance an already decadent and savory flavor. She would turn it over once in her hand and dab it lightly into a small cup of extra sauce that she had been given, before lifting it up again to her lips for another bite.

The meal didn't last long between either of them. First the meat and then the fries disappeared one by one, leaving nothing but an empty basket of fair food. The only thing that still lingered were the drinks. They wanted to take their time with those. It wasn't particularly scorching, or even very hot out. In fact the weather was relatively pleasant. Warm and sunny with a light breeze to cool the fur. But still, it seemed that neither bird really wanted to rush their beverage. Instead sitting close together, and enjoying taking their time. Timbrel would lean quietly against her taller friend and begin to rumble quietly, perfectly content. Requiem may not have enjoyed the summer sun, but that didn't mean he could not still enjoy a relaxing day at the beach and she was glad to be able to enjoy it with him.
