Confession

The moon shone brightly over the Marine base, casting a silvery glow on the ocean waves that crashed against the rocky shore. Smoker and Rizo found themselves alone on a secluded cliff, far away from the prying eyes of their fellow marines. They had grown up together, having joined the marine ranks at a young age, and their friendship had blossomed over the years.

As they stood side by side, Smoker couldn't help but feel his heart racing. He had known for a while now that his feelings for Rizo were more than just friendship. Her strength, her kindness, and the way she communicated without words had captured his heart, and he knew he couldn't keep his emotions hidden any longer.

"Rizo," Smoker began, his voice a little nervous but determined, "there's something I need to tell you."

Rizo turned to face him, her dark red curls catching the moonlight as she looked at him with curiosity. She didn't say anything, just gazed at him expectantly, urging him to continue.

Taking a deep breath, Smoker reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, intricate bracelet with a delicate bell attached to it. He held it out towards Rizo, his hand trembling ever so slightly.

"I-I remember giving this to you when we were kids," he said, his cheeks turning a faint shade of red. "I told you to use the bell to get someone's attention. But, you know what? I never realized that you had already captured my attention, and my heart, a long time ago."

Rizo's eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, Smoker feared he had overstepped his boundaries. But then he saw a hint of warmth in her eyes, and he knew he had to continue.

"You're an incredible person, Rizo," Smoker continued, his voice growing steadier. "You're strong, compassionate, and you don't need words to express yourself. Your actions speak louder than any words ever could. And I... I admire you more than anyone else in this world."

A mixture of emotions washed over Rizo's face—surprise, happiness, and maybe even a hint of shyness. She reached out and gently took the bracelet from Smoker's hand, holding it in her own.

"I never thought you'd feel this way about me," Rizo signed, her hands moving gracefully to form the words. "You've always been my best friend, Smoker."

Smoker couldn't help but smile. "And you've always been more than that to me. You've been my inspiration, my confidante, and the one who understands me better than anyone else."

Rizo looked down at the bracelet, the bell tinkling softly in the night breeze. Then, she looked back up at Smoker, her eyes shining with emotion.

"I feel the same way," she signed, a shy smile gracing her lips. "You've always been there for me, protecting me and caring for me. I... I think I might be falling for you too."

Relief and joy washed over Smoker, and without thinking, he took a step closer to Rizo, their hands still intertwined with the bracelet between them.

"I don't know where this will lead us," Smoker said honestly, "but I want to find out together. I want to be more than just your friend, Rizo. I want to be with you, no matter what challenges lie ahead."

Rizo's smile widened, and she squeezed his hand gently. In that moment, they both knew that their bond had deepened into something extraordinary. The moon bore witness to their confession, and the sound of the bell seemed to echo the harmony of their hearts coming together.

As they stood there on that cliff, beneath the moonlit sky, Smoker and Rizo began a new chapter in their lives—one filled with love, understanding, and the unspoken language of their hearts.
