Brutus observed Meadow from a distance, her wife had been acting a bit odd as of the last couple of hours. She seemed to be in a bit of a mood, these things often came and went, but as of right now it was sticking.

She pouted slightly as she tried to figure out what she could do to cheer up her wife. She turned her attention to the window as her mind drifted to the many ideas that she was thinking up.

Brutus perked up within moments as a wide, goofy grin overtook her face. She had just the thing to make her wife feel much, much better.

Meadow let out a depressed sigh. She had just been feeling a tad bit upset and cranky as of late and her mood wasn’t worsening or getting better it was just being what it wanted to be.

She let out a gasp of surprise and of mild fright as something was gently wrapped around her eyes to blind her. Her body went rigid with shock.

“It’s just me, sweetheart.”

Meadow relaxed as she realized it was Brutus, however, her anger quickly flared.

“Are you trying to give me a heart attack you trash monster?!” She squeaked still trying to calm herself down from the mild panic attack she had when she had been blinded.

“Awww, calm down sweetheart. I’m going to take you somewhere nice so hold on.” Brutus chirped happily unaffected by her Wife’s words (which never were meant to be harmful in the first place)

“Huh?!”

Meadow let out another shriek of a start as she was suddenly, but gently picked up and surrounded by soft and very fluffy fur.

“H-hey!” Meadow stuttered in protest, having not been expecting to be picked up.

“I wanted to bring you somewhere special, you’ll love it I promise.” Brutus hummed as she carefully walked out of their comfortable home and out into the humid night, the smell of rain still lingering heavy in the air from the showers they had gotten earlier.

Meadow quieted down not too long after they began their walk, opting to just snuggle further into her wife’s super soft fur and allowing herself to be carried.

It was only a short twenty-minute walk that was accompanied by silence.

Brutus sat down and took the blindfold off of Meadow, allowing her wife to use her as an area to sit if she wanted.

“What did you want me to see?” Meadow questioned confused as she looked around at the clearing, they were in. She quirked an eyebrow as Brutus pointed upward before laying down and looking up at the sky.

Meadow, though confused, followed her wife’s actions only to gasp out in amazement of the sight.

Bright stars filled the originally cloudy night sky which must’ve cleared up. They sparkled brightly and lit up the night sky in such a beautiful way.

And then streaks of light began to make their way across the sky.

“A meteor shower!” Meadow gasped out in shock as she watched countless lights shoot across the sky.

Brutus smiled as a warm fuzzy feeling bloomed in her chest.

“…Thank you” Meadow mumbled out shyly as she looked up at the sky, her eyes beginning to water at the amazing sight. This was what she needed.

“Love you, babe.” Brutus replied happily as she watched the meteor shower with her girlfriend.

Though Meadow didn’t respond, Brutus knew that she loved her back. And that she had helped with the little mood she was going through.

And that made Brutus smile wider,

She wanted to be able to help her wife anyway she could.

Until the day the world ceased to exist.
