gonna be a small loretelling series of arc's younger ages (was meant to be just morpheus lore at first)

t/w: descriptive wound (missing eyes) for a short moment

ch. I | something new

Morpheus was born upon a star of February 3rd (Flabeuary 3rd,) but was one of the first to ever truly walk upon the universe in its beginning. The other two who had summoned in that universe alongside him were beings noted as Clytemnestra, but the other's name remains unknown to this day; even to Morpheus. Clytemnestra happened to be a young and playful Mew taking the form of a younger child, while the other presented herself as a strong and fortified Mewtwo.

The three always ventured through voids and voids of the universe, traveling for hours to months without wait or patience. Silence always found their minds the longer they wandered. They didn't know what they were here for, nor what they searched for. But, they ventured on for just nearly a century.

There was a break in the universe one day — a crack in space — with a welcoming warmth, gold warmth. Although Morpheus warned the others to be wary of such a sudden presence, "Clem," otherwise noted as Clytemnestra, seemed to be content with letting her heart open to anyone of the world; or of any other world. A hand – a claw reached through to them, and opened its palm to hold out a golden orb that fit even in the soft palms of Clem.

"Give this universe a place in your world, and I swear to you, he will give you a home."

Once Clem held the orb safely in her hands, the golden crack had closed itself as the hand seemed to shatter into fragments, dissolving into space. The three surrounded the orb as they let it drift between them – and without a word, held each other's arms, and waited.

They never slept in the years that went by of their travels of an empty universe, so they all tasked themselves with watching something new - the orb.

They had never learned how to speak any selection of words during the time they bided the world, but after their fateful encounter with the hand through the golden warmth did they seem to figure it out.

"...Morpheus is your name?"

Morpheus understood – mentally – but found himself at a loss for vocabulary as he barely seemed to grasp what had happened to them.

He nodded to Clem.

Clem seemed to speak the most while the three continued to hover around the orb for weeks, but often spoke so much that both Morpheus and the Mewtwo learned how to deafen their sense of sound before learning how to speak any further.

Morpheus eventually began to make conversation with Clem next, often starting with such innocent things as their varying emotions to the wonders of the universe. They never spoke of matters like favorite colors, things to do, or what they liked – for there was nothing that the universe offered them to enjoy.

The Mewtwo always remained the most silent, though.

But when the orb finally made a difference in itself and split in two just years after its first appearance, Morpheus felt like the world had gone silent as it had always been in the past century. The silence was there for a moment – and in the next, a bright and large golden glow burst between all three of them that forced them to shut their eyes. At least – if they wanted to keep them.

But, the Mewtwo learned that another way.

What remained in place of the orb was a small representation of a newborn creature – tiny, with its body wavering as if it were made of subspace liquid that even Morpheus couldn't define. Its eyes were two small golden dots - while a golden halo seemed to wrap around its torso. Small horns alongside its head, and shaped to walk with four legs.

The three – Morpheus, Clem, and the newborn stared at each other for just a short moment, but Clem turned away.

And dived.

Clem managed to catch the Mewtwo just short distances away from Morpheus and the newborn, for she had been falling and preparing to gravitate towards the lower unknowns of the universe while remaining unconscious. Morpheus noticed this as soon as Clem dived, but remained next to the newborn as he watched Clem bring the Mewtwo back to eye level with the newborn.

The Mewtwo's eyes were now bloody sockets - eyes gone, dissolved from that once welcoming golden warmth - nothing left for her to see. Morpheus felt a sliver of emotion - a solemn chill run down his spine. And Clem erupted into tears, burying her head into the chest of the Mewtwo as she hugged her close.

"Give this universe a place in your world,

It did not want to tear away a world to behold from someone. Not like this.

and I swear to you,

The newborn hovered closer to Clem and the Mewtwo, eyes hastily looking to the Mewtwo.

he will give you a home."

'Was this world your home?'

It had no permission to think. Not when it had caused something like this.

The newborn placed one of the nubs that were to represent its legs onto the arm of the Mewtwo, almost immediately wrapping the Mewtwo with a golden light. Clem let out a small gasp, raising her head and looking at the newborn.

And the Mewtwo opened her eyes again.

Morpheus let out a soft sigh – finally feeling a representative yet mixed emotion of relief wash over his form.

And the Newborn spoke.

"I.. have wronged you. Came into your… world with nothing but harm."

It scattered itself away from the three, just distances away. It tapped its nubs twice towards the empty air of the universe – and created something anew.

A world. A planet that – granted, it was gorgeous.
