"Hey, I haven't seen you around!"

She whipped her head around and prepared to defend herself with what little strength she had. She tried to look threatening, but with her sulking posture and lowered head taking up as little space as possible it was kind of difficult.

There, a bright yellow, almost white mare with small fangs and bat wings had a curious expression. "Are you new? Lost maybe? What's your name?" Her voice was soft and high-pitched, like a flower's petal flowing in the wind, though it wasn't at all delicate.

"M-My name?"

"Yeah, is there anything you want me to call you?"

She faced the ground. "Um, I guess you could call me...Siesta."

The bat pony smiled a genuine smile, which was different from the other residents that looked at her. "That's so cool! It's really different from the other names I'm hearing around here. I'm Sunflower!"

Siesta felt the stars in her mane glow a little and she quickly tried to push back the the lights from standing out. "O-Oh, that's a nice name too. Do know where we are?"

Sunflower, who seemed to have sensed a more comfortable atmosphere, took a few steps closer toward her. "Canterlot, home to the royals! I personally prefer Ponyville, where society is more peaceful and stuff, and everything is cheap, but it's pretty here, even if I get weird looks for these wings..."

The dark blue mare was within her own thoughts as the other talked on. She wasn't fond of the idea being with other civilized ponies when she didn't even have a plan on living out here. All she thought about was breaking out of her prison. What if something happens? Her eye accidentally shows and someone sees their greatest fear? Ponies find about the dead stars that are in her mane? Or maybe word gets out that she's the daughter of Sombra and Luna? Scandals would fly everywhere, that's for sure. But Sunflower seemed nice. Maybe a little in-your-face, but it would be useful having someone who has knowledge about this place. As long as there isn't risk of being exposed, Siesta decided to stick with her new acquaintance for now.

"Could I...stay with you for a while?"

Sunflower paused and glanced at her, then smiled. "Of course! I'll help you out with whatever you need, so ask anything!"

Siesta relaxed a bit and looked up, praying that she'll find a way to fit in to this society she knew almost nothing about. This was just the beginning.
