Conan is hanging out with Eli late at night. Just as he is about to leave, it starts pouring. (This is inspired by the song "ceilings" by Lizzy McAlpine!)

Author's Notes

I made this awhile ago and never finished it, but after rereading it, I noticed that I could wrap it up pretty quickly. So here, take old very short Conan and Eli story.

"Okay, I guess I should let you go."

Conan and Eli had just finished one of their gaming sessions, and it was time for Eli to go home. Obviously, he didn't want to, but he didn't want his parents to worry if he came home too late.

"Yeah, though I wish you wouldn't."

Eli opens the door for Conan slowly, signaling that he, in fact, did not want to let him go. Conan started heading out, telling Eli goodbye. He was about a foot away from the door when he felt a drop on his nose. He looked up, wondering where it came from. Just as he began to continue on his very unwanted journey, the drops increase substantially, and he is soaked in less than a minute.

"Augh, where did this rain come from!" He calls, just loud enough for Eli to hear.

"I don't know! What I do know though is that it is definitely not safe to walk home in this! Get back here!" Eli replies with a smile in his voice.

Conan doesn't wait a second before sprinting... well... more like fast walking, as he's not a very athletic person, to the door. As soon as he's in the house, Eli slams the door shut to avoid any of the water from invading his house. They stand there silently for a moment, Conan trying to control his breathing so he doesn't sound out of breath. Once his heart stops beating and his breathing is as normal as it can get in the short time he had, he turns to Eli.

"Oh nooo, I guess I have to spend more time with you."

Eli giggles, which makes Conan's heart warm up from the cold rain.

"Oh darn. Seems like it. How will you survive this predicament, good sir?"

Conan lets out a chuckle, and dramatically shakes his head.

"I don't know, dear fellow. I'm not sure I'll make it."

This makes both of them burst into laughter. Eli playfully slaps Conan on the shoulder. Conan pulls out his phone to text his parents that he'll be spending the night, since the rain is too heavy to walk home. While he is doing this, Eli heads to the living room and turns on the TV.

"Want to watch a movie? I found a really good one recently called Nimona. It seems a lot like your style of movie." Eli asks, though he is already switching the movie on.

"Yeah! I've actually been wanting to see that one."

“Awesome!” Eli responds. He presses play, beginning their long night where they probably won't get a wink of sleep.
