I had to write a poem based on one of my favorite songs for my Creative Writing class.
Bigger Person

I shouldn't have to be the bigger person
Why am I the only one who wants to keep us working?
If I love you, why dont you love me?
I'll take the blame if that's what you want me to do
Because that's what I do for you
You always say it's over, but it never really is
I just need some closure
How could you call it quits?
How can I make this work when you're like this?
I shouldn't have to be the bigger person
Let's move on from this and keep us working
You say you love me, but it's just a lie
'Cause the very next day you'll swat me like a fly
Why cant you see?
I shouldn't have to be the bigger person
Why should I have to break to keep us working?
It's always up to me, even though it shouldn't be
I'll take the blame the way you want me to
Because that's what I do for you.
