Alfheim is weak to cute things. For all her flexing muscles, and glares, and no-nonsense talk... what a weakness to have, especially when you're dating a Wish like them.

Nouveau used this weakness plenty. Making Alfheim help them with the fashion show. Getting her to date them. Getting out of trouble.

... getting her, right now, to do this quest in Dream Online. They watched her trying to wrangle a collection of adorable and slippery treats. Not with much success, but she'd get there once she was angry enough to ignore her melting impulse.

Nouveau was definitely in love. She was kind, when you melted her heart. When you thawed out the petals of the cherry blossom. (Nouveau wanted to go further, and tend those frostbitten flowers until they fruited. Alfheim would come out of her shell some day.)

-they dodged out of the way of a sparkling pink bunnytreat who'd clearly gotten into a henhouse, with all the feathers stuck to them. They dodged again out of the way of Alfheim, who barreled after it.

... the quest was going well, then. Nobody died or was on fire yet...

Nouveau carefully lifted a more timid treat from a patch of mums, and placed it within the basket under their arm. That little Stygian was gonna give them so much exp. for this. Or well. No. It was a low level beginner quest, so clearly it wasn't, no matter what Nouveau wanted.

There was a crash. Nouveau swiveled to see Alfheim, victorious and all askew, holding a very, very naughty treat.

"Got it," she said. Nouveau felt their heart bloom.
