Part One

The figure pauses, taking another step back into the shadows it was lurking in and glancing around, uncomfortable. The pokemon it was watching, a pair of eevees, though one is a fusion, continue to walk on by, completely oblivious that they were ever being observed by someone else. The reason as to why he was observing them, why he waws doing it and what they could give him – that is something yet to be discovered and yet to be revealed, some secrets need to be held.
However, what has made this other pokemon uncomfortable, what has made him loose the eye on it’s targets is the distinct feeling that he is being watched as well. He is good at watching, as his companion would say it is a weird and uncomfortable hobby of his; but all of this does also mean that he is very good at knowing when he’s being watched. And right now? Yeah, someone’s watching him and he can’t tell why.

Pausing he shakes his head, and steps even further back, pressing the side of his back into the tree now behind him, careful as to not trap any of his back blade in the bark in case he needs to leave quickly. He doesn’t want to look to alarmed so makes sure to cool his face off, act like this was all part of his previous plan, can’t have his observer fleeing before he can catch them. Looking down at his fingernails, he scrapes from under them, just acting casual though casual feels super strange right now.
There’s a snap.
He tries not to jolt his head to look in that direction, depending on how skilled his observer is, means even a hint of movement will catch their eye and they’ll leave before he can catch a glimpse of them. However, either he doesn’t give himself away or the other doesn’t notice when he does. It lets his eyes lower to the floor, that might make them slip up and he can at least catch their feet.

It doesn’t take long, though it’s already long enough to exhaust the figure, honestly he’s more exhausted because he’s lost out on what he was doing and he does not like it when his plans change so suddenly, a creature of habit as his partner may say.
His eye brows raise the second that he sees the figure, far smaller a pokemon then he expected, from the looks of it they’re some kind of Ralts, Heracross fusion. It’s curiosity gets the better of him and he breaks his stance, lurching forward, and pushing the small pokemon to the floor below him.
“Hey get off me!” She cries, it’s clear she’s a child and it loosens it’s grip.
“You’re just a child,” It’s voice breaks, soft, clearly softer then it intended, “Why are you following me?” The voice tightens up, becoming harsher and more like it seems to have meant to do the first time around. The child just fidgets below him, trying to break out of it’s loose grip but even then he’s still stronger then her.
“Let me go!” She cries again.
He does not.
She continues to struggle and he almost finds it adorable how hard she tries, he’s four times her size, but he also respects that. Though an angry huff escapes him, she’s being so stubborn.
“Look, child, you’re either going to make this easy for the both of us or hard for you and annoying for me.” He practically growls at her, and all she does is stick her tongue out and blow a raspberry. His eyes narrow and he stands up straight, picking the child up with him.
“Fine, you’re coming we me missy.” He’s surprisingly gentle with the child despite the man handling, she goes to protest and he raises an eyebrow again and she shuts her mouth.

It carries her carefully for quite some time in silence before she finally speaks again,
“Can you just put me down,” She asks, voice soft.
“Only if you’re going to answer my questions miss.” He retorts and she hums in confirmation. So, they continue on a little further until he spots a useful clearing and tree stump to pause at, high enough she won’t easily get down on her own, rather ideal for him.
He puts her down on it and then slumps his own bag down on the floor next to it, shifting to get more comfortable – rolling his shoulders they audibly click and it looks more comfortable again. It focuses their full attention back to the child who’s staring at him, not that he could tell because her eyes aren’t visible, but she’s clearly staring. He says nothing and moves to be stood right in front of her, hoping that his lack of words are explaining that he’s not speaking again until she explains some things.
“Look sir, I’m sorry I was following you. My name’s Kaylus.” She explains, shifting nervously. This confuses the other man for a second, he could have sworn that she’d know more about him, at the very least angels name considering how closely she was following him. “You’re just, you’re the first person who looked like you wouldn’t judge me… people don’t tend to like me.” She adds on.
“I don’t like anyone.” He replies, “My name is Kozmotis. I dislike the fact you were following me so go back to your family little one.” He snaps, carefully picking her up and putting her onto the floor before slinging his bag back over his shoulder and turning away from her.
Kozmotis gets a few passes away before he feels something tugging on the back of his skirt and he looks over his shoulder to see Kaylus, she shifts nervously as he looks at her.
“I don’t have any family.” She states softly.
“And what am I meant to do about that?” He retorts and tugs his skirt out of her small hand, “I told you, I don’t like anyone!” It’s annoying him now how this child won’t give up, does she just expect him to cave and take a random extra mouth in. He’s fine just by himself.
Though, angels not by archself, they have Ozul who has always been telling it to go out and make more friends, though it decided that his little ‘hobby’ is creepy and not what he meant. Though that doesn’t matter to it, he needs no one, not even Ozul, maybe he should bring this child back and give her to Ozul to take care of, that would mean he’d bother him less.
“Fine, you can come with me, but you are going to be cared for my friend Ozul. I want nothing to do with you.” He states firmly, turning back away from her. “Can you keep up with me or do I need to carry you?” He asks.
The child, Kaylus, states she’s okay walking and so she does.

It's gotten dark while they’re still on their way, he’s had to go slower then normal to allow the child to keep up, he would have been back by now, back and Ozul would have cooked something nice… Not that he needs Ozul to do that, it’s just good that he’s there to do it, it’s not something he’d feel like he missed out on if it wasn’t there, it’s just nice that it is there. No, he’s not being hypocritical.
He also ignores the fact that as he unlocks the front door and heads into his house, that the child is now asleep in his arms. No, he only picked her up because she was delaying them too much, not because he turned around unable to hear her ceaseless chatter to see her leaning against a tree exhausted and she asked him so softly to pick her up. No, that’s not why he pick her up and it never will be.
“Where are we?” The sleepy voice says, awoken by the bright light and the fact that the constant motion has stopped for the first time since she was picked up.
“My place,” He responds, “But also Ozul’s. You’ll have to sleep on a chair tonight, but we may be able to make a room for you tomorrow if you do actually want to stick around.” He states, she yawns again.
“But what about this Ozul, does he not get a say?” She asks and Kozmotis chuckles.
“No, he does not.” It’s said firmly but there’s a softness under there, and that’s something Kaylus logs, this man seems to like lying about things. Especially the fact he doesn’t care, if her being tucked gently onto the chair says anything, as well as him pointing at an open door and explaining he’ll be asleep in there if she has any issues.
She does note however, before she drifts off to sleep again, that he opens the shut door alongside that corridor and heads into there first. She gets no answer as she falls into the best sleep she has had for a long time.
