Mama?

Nova smiled towards her son. She concluded a story she had been telling, breaking out into a coughing fit.

"Are you okay, Mama?" Her son, Crag, asked worriedly.

"Yes, love, I'm okay." She wheezed. Nova was getting weaker every day. She knew her time was quickly approaching.

"Crag, I need you to listen to me." She put a paw on his shoulder. "You're going to be on your own soon. Do you remember?" Crag nodded wordlessly. "You're so special, Crag. You are going to be one of the most important cats this world has ever seen. You'll strike the world like a rock fall." Crag noticed how it looked like there were shooting stars going across his mother's eyes. He ignored it, concerned.

"But, Mama-"

"Just ponder my words, Crag. It's okay. I'm going to take a nap, okay?" Nova closed her eyes, resting her head next to Crag. She had a smile on her face.

Her eyes never opened again.
