This is part 1, with part 2 being [ 30 ‐ Mystery ]

[ 29 ‐ Cold ]

Shivering in the cold, the male pulled his jacket around his shivering body a bit more as he waited. Smoking a cigarette outside the multi floored building, Faaris made a face after he exhaled the smoke. He hated how cigarettes tasted and smelled, but oh they calmed his nerves and put him at ease when he needed to be. His blue eyes kept drawing to the door, looking for a certain someone who made that mistake of threatening his child on what was meant to be a more chill day out.

A calm day at the park as the seasons changed to fall, Faaris sat with Jezik while the small played with some kids around their age. It wasn’t an uncommon event, Faaris trying to socialize the child like his older brother told him he should. The park was filled with a mixture of the guild’s parents with their children and the common folk who didn’t know any better. It was a time to relax, let their guards down, let their kids be kids. The assassins all knew what happened when children were raised only in the environment of death and murder, and many wanted that cycle to end.

Talking with Jezik about the mundane, Faaris’s faint smile vanished as he heard commission start to form. Children scattered as a more muscular male started through the playground towards Naasir. The young warpa was none the wiser, still sweet to the world, staring with big eyes as the child they were playing with ran off.

Rushing over, Faaris scooped up Naasir before the male could touch him, staring him down without words with a knife drawn. Jezik was also to his feet, not suited as well for fighting but he by no means was going to sit and watch if things started to happen.

β€œTo think, the likes of you think you can just have a peaceful life.” The male sneered, though as people started to call for the cops it didn’t look like it was going to be a long interaction. Huffing, he started to turn tail and leave, Faaris stroking Naasir’s back to comfort him as he listened to the words that followed. β€œI’ll make your life a living hell, don't you forget it.”
