There was a baby mhoat who was smaller than the rest, many didn't think it'll make it. they were too small and born without back legs and their shell was weak and thin. Unknown to the caretakers at the time, they would survive months. As the months past and they still thrived, only still being small and squishy. They were a soft blue with tiny pointed up ears and no horns. Their caretaker after months of them survived decided to name them 'Chibi' for their small size.

They lived in a nest with 8 other baby mhoats and after half a year the nest got smaller and more lonely. By now, the other had begun to shapeshift and learn how to walk and control their magic. Chibi still had their baby legs and magic was very hard for them, they stayed in the nest more often than not. They only were out when the caretakers would pluck them out and only then. In a year, they were left all alone, their sibling all got shapeshifted and began to learn to shift forms now. It was too exhausting for Chibi and they practically gave up.

One evening, where the sun shone gold into the nest they laid there. Not even trying to shapeshift anymore. Chibi sighed and closed their eyes, listening to the trees. A quiet cry was let out, Chibi's eyes snapped open. Nothing was heard, just the quiet and trees. Chibi was sure they heard it. Slowly they wiggled out the nest's door, looking out to the open grass and trees. The caretakers were gone, they had taken the other's out to town. Chibi never left the nest so they weren't too worried for them. The breeze tickled Chibi's ears as they waited. After a long few minutes, Chibi was ready to give up and sleep again. Then the cry sounded and Chibi bolted out into the grass, wiggling towards the cry. When it died down Chibi waited with bated breath. Chibi's bright pink eyes darted about as they readied themselves. After a long minute passed, their ears twitched about trying to strain to hear something or anything that wasn't the trees or the breeze. All they saw the grass upon more grass, tree upon trees and plants everywhere. By the time the third cry came, Chibi was ready. With their four little front legs, they began to bound up and over grass. Every time they got air and was up high enough, they'd look about real quick. Before this cry died out it was louder but not close enough still.

By now, Chibi knew they were on the right path and kept bounding about. They still saw nothing, their bounding began to slow down as they started to tire out. They hadn't been this active in months but something was crying. They had to keep it up! They stopped and rested, by now the nest wasn't visible. Chibi looked around and they didn't even recognize the area. All the trees blended into one another, everything looking the same. They felt lost, scared and so tiny in this big world. Chibi was on the verge of tears when they heard the fourth cry. It was close. With strength they didn't know they had, they bound towards the noise again. Chibi was scared but they wanted to help whatever was crying. It probably was more scared than them at the moment. Just as the cry began to stop, Chibi saw a small black lump in the grass.

It was the source. Chibi finally just wiggled slowly to it as they were so tired. The closer they got, they saw it was weird. It looked like those Foxylotls that the caretakers would bring during playtime. But it was black and furry with small drooped ears. Upon getting to the small pup, Chibi saw its paw had a small cut and it was quivering. Chibi chirped at it before getting to close. It's small head rose and tilted it's ear up. Its eyes remain closed, probably too small to open them yet. It whimpered and started to shake it's head about as if looking for the chirping once more. Chibi quickly chirped as they shuffled to its side.

Once the pup realized there was another with it, it scooted over and nearly on top of Chibi. Side by side they stayed for a long while. Chibi over a while half hugged the pup and licked it's cut clean. By now the sun was setting, Chibi still stuck with the pup. They had begun to chirp and whine at each other. If Chibi chirped too loudly at the pup it would bite their snout. Chibi was having fun for the first time in a long time. They wondered when the caretakers would notice them missing or if they would be found by the mother Foxylotl and raised by it. When night hit, Chibi laid their head down by the pup's paws. They had little beans and tiny branches and Chibi thought it was so cute. Chibi plopped their small squishy leg on the pups. They wanted beans and legs to steal this pup away and home. The cut still lingering on the pup's paw and it still quivered slightly. With that Chibi huffed, trying once more to use the magic in them to shift. They tried for long minutes, closing their eyes and concentrating so hard before something bit their ear. Letting out a yelp, Chibi looked at the attacker and it was the pup. It whined at them and then nuzzled them.

Chibi sighed, resting. It was a long day and no one came yet. They wanted to always be able to shape shift and they still couldn't even for this little pup. Chibi stared out, thinking of saving this pup before it began to cry. It cried and cried non stop, Chibi was worried and trying to do something to help. Nothing did. It was looking at its back legs crying. Chibi checked it over and over and nothing was wrong. Chibi was about to cry when a hove stepped next to the pup's back leg.

A tall white Mhoat stood there, a halo shined on its head and small wings were everywhere on it. Chibi noticed the pup stopped crying as the older mhoat got there. The pale mhoat nuzzled them, sniffing them. A small set of wings pulled back to show their eyes. Red with green pupils. A hand appeared as it grabbed the pups small paw. It looked for a second before scooping them both up in its extra arms. Chibi was stunned, they have never seen this mhoat before. They were cuddled into its warm fur before it took off with a set of huge pale wings. Chibi saw the small ones but not this big set. Before long they were high up as the pale mhoat looked about.

Once Chibi saw their nest, so did the mhoat. It dove down, quickly reaching the nest. Chibi's caretakers were panicked and yelling, not even noticing the pale mhoat. They strolled over to the caretakers saying soft words to them as Chibi began to doze off in the warm fur.

When Chibi awoke, it was day time and due to their small tail being bitten and dragged. It was the pup! After a while Chibi was raised with it. It seeming to lighten Chibi's mood and noticed when Chibi was upset. Being as playful as it was, Chibi did learn to shift their legs into paws and play as well. Most days they ended up sleeping early worn down by the pup. Some days they wanted to fly to meet and pale mhoat who saved them. Just so they could thank them for saving them and the pup.
