Pulled, dragged, yanked in... ...and pushed, shoved, thrown out

And left to fend off for themselves. Those are the best words to describe what situation Eliyah and Brizo, a pair of siblings, found themselves in. While they don't quite remember how exactly they ended up in such a large, unfamiliar forest, they do know they have to survive.

They grew up in a distand land, a peaceful farming village, with their parents. Their father, a gambling addict, slowly but surely started betting away the family fortune, and after the siblings' mother left their father gave them up to a friendly organization - a place that had the resources to take care of Eliyah and Brizo, at least on paper. They were made to believe that the outside world had been corrupted by all the sins, and only on the organization's property the siblings had the protection from outside diseases. Protected by a benevolent god [what god, though, what god...? They cannot quite remember the specifics], they, and their new 'siblings' grew up isolated. Years after years, small cracks started to show - how their supposed god did not help the plagued outside world, how the caretakers did not quite care about what went on between the 'siblings' as long as things looked normal, the power trips, the lies... Having found a dusty old book, a simple fairytale that didn't portray the world in a bad light, Eliyah and Brizo decided to sneak out and see the "plagued" town for themselves.

It didn't go as planned, however, as they found no disease, but instead a happy rural town, just as they had remembered from their childhood. After successfully sneaking in back, they both came to talk to their caretakers - perhaps they hadn't realized the plague has gone away? Their naive way of thinking was quickly shut down, hard. Very hard. When the next opportunity presented itself - with some cash in hand stolen from the superiors - they ran away and stayed the night in a local inn. As morning came, the familiar sounds of shouting woke them up and they made the decision to run, run as far as they can instead of risking being caught. After being chased into the nearby forest and running for what felt like hours the siblings slowly started to realize that the shouting stopped and the forest no longer looked familiar. Besides, did they... always have such long horns? Such weirdly ill-fitting skin? What about Eliyah's sickly-orange eyes? Everything felt fuzzy from the adrenaline, memories unclear and headache inducing... Well, no matter, this strange, glowy forest should be their top priority now. At least they seem to be alone, which is both dreadful and relieving.
