Kiglas was sitting at the campfire. The crackling fire was conforting after this long day on the road.
His dinner was cooking in the pot. He sighed.

Ylopon appeared from the shadows, carrying a small box and sitting next to him.

"Hungry?" the rhinoceros asked.

"If you wouldn't mind." Replied the bat.

Kiglas nodded, offering his arm to her.

"Oughta get you some cattle, friend."

"You surely must know how hard it is to travel with a prisoner, right?" Ylopon replied as she made a cut on her friend's wrist.
She saw the multiple scars on his arm. All of them her doing. "But I will consider."

As soon as blood started pouring from it, she brought his arm to her mouth, drinking the delicious red liquid.

"Consider or don't, we will get someone from our next destination. You know I don't mind you feeding on me, but I'm getting tired."

He stirred the stew with his free hand. It was almost ready. He grew more and more tired the more Ylopon drank from his blood. If this continued, he may not have enough strength to have his dinner.

A grunt was all it took for Ylopon to stop drinking. She wished for more. She was still thirsty, hungry. But if he didn't tell her when it was enought, it could end in a catastrophe.

That was another reason why people didn't trust neither vampires nor vampire bats. But he trusted her. And that was enough.

She wiped her mouth and opened the box. She treated his wound delicately with the ointments and bandages from it.
Once it was done, she leaned agaisnt the big Rhino, closing her eyes.

They stood in silence as Kiglas had his dinner.

"So, about the cattle..." She started

"Yes?"

"Can they be pretty?"

Kiglas chuckled. "As pretty as you would like. You are gonna chose them, not me."
