It had been quite a long time since both Beetle & Peppermint got married, but despite that, neither of them could forget the overwhelming amount of joy they felt for each other. The more hyper of the two, Beetle, remembered how excited he was to declare his love to not only the one he had been obsessed with for a while but also to his new family, after the previous one neglected his true self. On the other hand, Peppermint had a more calm yet luminous memory of the mariage.

As a tradition, the couple dedicated a day in the week to themselves. A day when they would give each other the best day of the week. This was especially great during harder times.

Fortunately, the day they had picked happened to be on a rainy day. They knew exactly what to do knowing this. On the day before their date, the couple went to a market and bought their favorite snacks and made sure to grab some chips, mainly for Beetle. They also grabbed a few cat-shaped cookies, mainly because of Beetle’s insistence. Though, it took him biting into the container of cookies before Peppermint sighed and accepted.

“Alright, fine, only because you already put your mouth into the container”, Peppermint stared at Beetle, exhausted but still wanting their partner to enjoy the snacks later on.

With such a small trip to the market, it was no surprise to see Peppermint so exhausted already. They didn’t exactly enjoy being out there, nor do they have a huge reservoir of energy, unlike their partner. And so, as soon as the couple had gotten home, Peppermint got themselves comfortable in their shared room, turned off the lights then started laying down while thinking about the day they were going to have with Beetle.

But, it didn’t take long before the high energy Avesento jumped in the bed while screaming of excitement. Peppermint tried covering their head with their blanket but that didn’t stop Beetle from screaming.

“Aren’t you excited for tomorrow? It’s going to be raining and we’re gonna have so many snacks and so many cuddles! We’re gonna watch some fun movies and it’ll be fun! I also prepared something special for you…you don’t wanna miss it!” Beetle kept screaming from all the energy he had, while Peppermint was groaning.

“Yeah. I am excited too. I do want to be at my best for you, so let me rest…” Peppermint sighed before going back to sleep. As their eyes closed, they heard the sounds of someone chewing into the plastic container of the cookies they had bought earlier. All they could do in response was sigh…but it wasn’t an annoyed sigh at all, just a tired one.

The morning had come with a pretty somber mood, perfect for the rain to come. The breeze from the window invited itself into the room, waking up Beetle first. With a huge smile on his face, he knew it was the day. And, the weather was perfect for it. Without hesitation, the Avesento woke up his partner by taking out the blankets & shaking them.

“Wake up, Pep! Today’s the day, and even the weather outside is telling us to celebrate our love!” Beetle screamed, overwhelmed by the amount of excitement he had for this day. Peppermint couldn’t help but groan a bit before staring at their partner. “...you look lovely today”, as all they said before Beetle dragged them out of bed. “Come on! Let’s get our comfy clothes and get started! Gosh, I can’t wait!”

With Peppermint now on the floor, they had no choice but to get out of bed. While Beetle was getting ready at the speed of light, his partner took his time as he usually would do. “If you’re going to be this slow, we’ll never eat the snacks!” the hyper Avesento couldn’t help but giggle a little bit. His partner couldn’t help but also smile at the antics. They knew it was going to be a special one, that’s for sure.

Once the two were ready along with some breakfast, they spent part of the day observing the rain from inside while enjoying the many snacks they bought. Beetle couldn’t help but start with the cookies, but then couldn’t resist the urge to chew on the plastic the cookies came from. The sounds from it made Peppermint cringe a bit, before the two of them eventually decided to remember the good times they had together.

“Man, I remember I first didn’t want to do this rehab job, but you…you made it so special. I can never express how lucky I was to be paired with you.” Peppermint whispered. “After all of this time, I still can’t believe we’re still together.”

Beetle stared at Peppermint with some sparkly big eyes, before also talking about his own feelings. “I’m just glad you can deal with all of my antics! I hope to be able to stick with you forever”, he responded with a huge smile on his face. He also couldn’t help but blush. Beetle was simply happy that someone as accepting as Peppermint ended up being the one helping him embrace the culture of Avesentos again.

The duo then spent the rest of the day observing the rain from their house, while eating up their snacks. They also shared a generous amount of cuddles, and couldn’t help but enjoy the warmth the other gave, as much as they usually dislike heat.

As long as it was from their loved one, it was totally okay.

In fact, this warmth only made them complete. The remaining piece to something previously missing in their lives.
