The other day I decided to visit Maylu Island. It was a quiet day that I left, leaving Toku in charge and gathering the trip’s belongings on the yacht. It was my dad’s yacht, before I left for the Americas. I certainly never arrived there, and I couldn’t be happier for such a mistake. I made sure to snag my iconic trainer outfit, be it my favorite fit.

The boat ride is a usual 2-day trip. But with the experience I have, and the yacht’s horsepower, I could make it in a day. On the way I took up the opportunity to document the sea life. I have a crippling fear of the water (another thing that my friends say makes me the human form of a cat) and yet I am still engulfed in a trance with the aquatic animals. Something about the amount of undocumented critters adds a whole new layer of mystery and adoration. This was one of the few opportunities I had to observe such exotic behavior outside the island.

As I drove the boat through calm tides and shuddering winds, I thought about my team. Although I visit frequently, I still wished they were not bound to Maylu. I’d love to take them around the castle, to show them my kingdom. I missed them, them and Brooke, and I decided to plan a surprise visit.

Finally, my boat shook. The land under me was shallower and a familiar gleam of the island barrier welcomed me. As I sped up the boat I saw Horsea and Lapras swirling in the sea, just beyond. When I pulled up next to the barrier, it bent around my hand. The tip of the boat slowly morphed through the gleaming, transparent layer and before I knew it, it let me through. I was delighted to see the pass May had given me still worked.

I swiftly docked the yacht on the shores, escaping the wooden docks and leaping into the sand. It was pasty and stuck to the side of my boots, clinging to the leather. As I stepped forward, the sand morphed into a sinkhole, and I struggled to catch my balance against it.
