Beach Day #1

The light blue water washed back and forth on the shore of the island and covered a vast part around the island, the tides changing once in a while from rough to soft depending on the weather. It had been quiet amongst the sands but the indents of left footprints could be seen clearly in the sand left behind a small carnivore, black feathers left behind lay in the sands washed by the waves. A black figure with small flashes of pink could be seen running through the bushes that sat before the sandy beach , a black Utah could be spotted stopping at the bushes before jumping onto the sandy beach.  Minks had been traveling throughout the day across the island to get to the beached area and he came to hunt the various crabs and wildlife that came in land when the tide was low.

His pink eyes scanned the waters as he watched the tide go back and forth with a puzzled look on his face ruffling his feathers. Awaiting for the moment movement could be seen as he knew some wildlife here provided a great source of meat, Minks watched the sand carefully as he awaited for the right moment. small bubbles opened in the sand from the tide that had just gone back to the ocean , small crabs emerged from the holes as they began to head up the beach away from the calm waters. Minks didn’t tend to visit the beaches often and was always curious what it held and the crabs he was seeing were a first in a long time, slowly approaching them as he watched them skitter across the sands, some stopping as he got close raising the claws in a defensive stance.

“ Well, aren’t you just a little defensive creature “ he chuckled to himself as he walked past them, his feet sinking in the wet sand as he walked down the shore, the tide coming in and out softly as the water glistened.  His black feathers soaking up the sun with heat , he should’ve come here more often. It was always so calming but getting here was work. Minks soon let out a sigh as he walked down the shores looking at the various items and wildlife that had washed up with the tide, most of the items that were washed to shore were old or odd objects that had been lost to sea or had come from the sea. Minks leaned down sniffing them as he went on sand sticking to his snout as he shook it off , before feeling the fresh water droplets hitting his feathers as he ruffled them once more before hopping on some shore rocks that had sat in the sand where the waves hit against them.

“ wow look at all these color’s” he said leaning down looking at the rocks that were covered in coral that grew on them from the tide keeping the rocks moist. The coral that grew on the beached rocks was full of vibrant colors and flowed in the waves as more water washed on the rocks causing the raptor to jump back to avoid getting wet again from the splashes. It  was time for the curious utahraptor to continue exploring what the islands beaches had to offer , as Minks landed a large bulky figure that was coming in from the tide caught his eye soon walking over to it slowly. It was a hard shelled turtle who was making its way through the sand with the help of the tides push, he had never seen one of these before it seemed slow due to having flippers.

“What is this thing and why is it on the beach it looks like a water creature” Minks thought to himself as he looked at it puzzled, the thing didn’t seem bothered by his presence at all which he found weird soon pecking at the hard shell it had protecting it still unmoved by the raptors presence and pestering. The beach seemed to have lots to offer and explore as he left the unbothered turtle alone to its own journey, Minks kept pace walking down the sands as his foot prints were left behind as he kept moving forwards taking in the surroundings and the calming water sounds that always kept its pace with the tide going in and out every once in awhile.

“This place is so calm and pretty, I could stay here all day” Minks said calmly as he stopped in the sand looking up at the sun and watching the water's surface ripple from the shore. He never came here, always staying in the dense forests of the island hidden away, he remembered seeing a certain carnivore frequent the beaches but that's because they could swim.

“ I wonder what it’s like being able to be near the beaches all the time” Minks asked, looking up at the blue skies that had clouds moving slowly across them.  But I guess visiting and learning about the wildlife and area was good enough for him, it held so many new things compared to the Forrest’s. It was now getting later in the day and Minks had fallen asleep on the soft sand as a splash of water awoke him as the tide had come in further when he was asleep , his pink eyes opened slowly as he lifted his head shaking the wet sand off from under him.

“ I must have fallen asleep, the sun was nice and calming” he thought to himself as he stood shaking his feathers off removing the sand and water. The black Utah stood as he looked around, walking back down the shore the way he had come from , passing by the now left tracks in the sand from the turtle that had been coming up to shore. But the turtle was nowhere in site  ; it must've made its way back already. It was built for land and water unlike Minks who looked puzzled as he examined the left behind tracks in the sand. The Utah sniffed the sand as his snout got covered due to it being wet making him sneeze trying to get it off before smiling and continuing on down the beach back the way he came humming lightly as sand kicked up behind him his wings tightly held to his side. The sky was darkening now as he kept his pace coming back to a larger area of the beach seeing a big figure laid across the sand , it was breathing and it looked like it was in rough shape.

“A Asitro? Beached up here it must be sick” he mumbled walking closer slowly the large marine dinosaur breathing heavily but it was slowing down very quickly. He had seen these dinosaurs swimming and jumping out of the water every now and then whenever he was close enough to see the sea, maybe being near the beach was just as dangerous as it was pretty at least for these creatures, Minks sat down near the creature as it lay away from the tide that was just barely reaching it. Minks sat in silence as he watched the creature slowly pass and seeing the crabs scuttle towards it as it now was a food source for the environment around it, even the most beautiful places on the island held their dark secrets.

“I should head back into the forest. It's getting cold now since it's dark” He said before turning back looking at the now corpse of the large marine dinosaur “rest easy big guy” he said before heading towards the treeline that split the beach from the rest of the islands. Minks stopped sighing once more before turning to look at the beach once more “I think i’ll come back here more often” he said to himself before looking down at a small shell that sat in the sand and was white in color shining in the dark skies from the moon now coming out.

“What’s this , a shell?” he bent down taking the small object in his teeth before putting it in a clearer spot from out of the sand. It was very beautiful and seemed to be from the sea, an object to remember visiting here and maybe to collect more if Minks were to come back, which he intended to do. “This would look so pretty in a den” he said, his jaws turning into a smile as he studied it before picking it up once more in his jaws, a little thing to remember his time at the beach because he wasn’t sure when he would visit the beaches of the island once again.

“Well so long , such a pretty area “ Minks mumbled before jumping past the thick brush that hid the sands from the forest's edge, with the shell in his jaws it would be something he would hold close to him and something he would remember for his lifetime. Minks would return to the beaches when he had time but for now it was farewell for the utahraptor
