My Perfect World
A short poem describing Tiffany's ideal world and then her view of the real world.
In my perfect world, everything is soft and sweet
In my perfect world, like a pastel-painted dream
Full of peace and hope and light
Everyone is good and kind
In my perfect world, beauty fills each day of life
In my perfect world, roses have no thorns to hide
Full of innocence and love
Everyone is pure and just
But this world is far from perfect...
In this world I'm in, everything is cold and harsh
In this world I'm in, just surviving feels so hard
Full of suffering and grief
People corrupted by greed
But here in my room
My tiny fraction of the world
I can make things how I pleaseĀ
Oh so soft and oh so sweet
Like a pastel-painted dream
So I'll stay right here
Safe from cruel reality
Trying so desperately
To forget the cold, harsh truth
That my perfect world...
Will never exist.
