Otis was not sure if leaving campus late was a good thing at all.

Where he stands would have to be a good few yards away from a girl and a boy bickering.

Considering that the area was rather vacant of people, he considered crossing the parking lot just to walk around all this- though judging by the familiar blue blur and cloud of feathers, the young man could easily deduct that it was a particular boxer. The whole day, Otis had mostly been drifting to and fro, his close friend was out cold so he mostly had to kill time on his own. That is to say that the bleach-blond boy was not alone, it was just that his particular set of friends tended to have their own groups, and he discounts his brothers as friends, ouch. What better to end the evening than to pick up some food, the mall wasn't far from school-- and on the same commute to getting back home, it was a good two for one deal if he swung to the foodcourt to get something and then get back on the bus.

Considering that he was commuting home alone after helping out on the spring play-- which deserved the work of the goddess to help wrap this up in a weeks time, because the whole crew and himself were scrambling-- it was nice to spot a familiar face. Keyword: was. The lone quadruplet was unaware of what the dispute was even about until he witnessed the stranger of the two throw a drink at the avian before storming off. In the fling, Evangeline's wings rose in defense, though they did not move in time to shield her from the splash. A few bystanders in the area had already been walking around the two, though with the sudden outburst there were eyes set in sight at the scene. Mortifying, anyone would hate to be in that situation.

The raven haired girl tended to be strong headed, stubborn in her own right-- she'd never let someone walk over her, so watching that happen practically had Otis' heart drop to his stomach. Any person would hate to see it, he hated that this was a reality. Allowing his legs to carry him, he trotted over to the girl, eyes affixed on the guy though, though he was basically gone at that point. "Oh my god, are you okay?" Her still demeanor was jumped with an instant shock, feathers puffing up before she swiveled her attention back to Otis. "-oh." Shoulders slouching slightly in a sort of relief, her face read of surprise and something unreadable, a mix of disbelief and embarrassment. Otis wouldn't be one to read the latter of the two. "Oh it's nothing. Nice to see you though, Odie." Clicking her tongue, she wiped a hand to her face-- the stickily sweet substance sure to smudge her makeup, not that Otis would have noticed since he was just taken aback. "Yeah..."

"That's one of-" blinking, Evangeline nodded her head as she corrected herself "that was one of my guy friends, I thought he wanted to hang out and I thought there'd be more of us, turns out it's a date, and he didn't tell me." Spreading her hands in a kind of 'yeah' manner, Otis frowned as he took ahold of her hand and guided her to a nearby water fountain, "That doesn't make sense why he'd get mad at you for not liking that, I mean he was someone you hung out with so he should have known you."

"I guess he thought I liked him in a crush way, so when he tried to kiss me- or whatever-" Otis cringed, and in return he earned a shake of the head. "He got pissed because I wasn't cool with it, so then he yelled at me for trailing him along or being a freeloader. I honestly tried to pay for my part of things too but-" She sucked in a breath, "yeah. I don't mean to be rambling." Unsticking a hand from her forearm, there was a odd tug that was somewhat nerve-racking-- like he was stuck and then was convinced he'd be stuck forever which would have been weird. Otis was also concerned over discomforting the other's end from this debacle, she didn't seem to mind; though Evangeline was avoiding looking in Otis' direction. Otis interpreted it as her being eager to scrub the soda from her skin.

"He literally threw shit at you, I think you should be allowed to say your part."

"True, that's true. I guess I'm just a little-- weirded, I mean it did JUST happen, get off my back why dontcha." Speaking snidely in jest, the coldness of both the cola and the water wasn't great to say the least, what didn't help was that she'd have to be walking home in her ruined clothes. It easily could be washed, and the same could say for her hair-- but what a waste of a drink!

"You're not getting rid of me like that," murmuring as he rummaged through his bag, Otis retried a pack of tissues to his disposal. "This uh- probably isn't the best but maybe this could help wi-" The goal in his mind was for the tissues to get dampened and to use as a face wipe, though the avian really didn't care for it, in fact she was caught up in using the fountain as a sink to splash water to her face. Giving a moment of privacy and looking away, he awkwardly held the tissues and glanced around. Fair, that was fair. Moving her hip back from the fountain trigger, with closed eyes breathed out of her mouth- "God," she shivered, "Ah- hey, here-" unsure of what to do, his hand stuttered as the tissue waved in the air as Otis hesitated to wipe her face-- so instead he just gave her the sheets. He wasn't sure why he would have done that anyways, god he's stupid- Otis mentally scolded himself.

"It means a lot, Odie- you really don't have to stick around for this." It's a sweet nickname, sickly sweet-- "N-No no! I should, I'm glad I'm here though- wish that didn't happen to you though." "Things happen, and it gets the best of us... I'm just glad it didn't get in my feathers, that would have been a pain to get out." Balling up the paper, she shoved it into her pocket, not being able to spot a trashcan anywhere. "This, though, this sucks." Tugging at her shirt and looking down, Otis did the same, brow twitched "Really could have wished it were sprite." The stain was pretty prominent, turning the icy blue into a less than pleasant color.

"I think it's Dr. Pepper, some got in my mouth."

"Ew- hey wait, you DID get a kiss after all, he drank that so therefor it was in his mouth-" Cackling, a gentle punch was landed on the theater-head's upper arm, "He didn't spit at me! Besides, he wouldn't have gotten a kiss from me anyways." Biting her tongue, she withheld the end of that sentence that should have been tacked on, though she could ignore the context as she were smiling much more than she had just 15 minutes or so prior. It was sweet, him sticking around even if things got a little ugly. "Hey, shouldn't you have somewhere to be?" Otis blinked, he almost forgot.

"I mean, I'm already here, I dunno if you have much of an appetite anymore though." With a groan, Evangeline leaned back, the two making haste towards one of the double doors leading into the mall itself. "Please, never again. Neh-ver." "It's just something quick, hey-- you could get yourself like a sweater or something to wear home." "My wardrobe is massive already, no can do. I'll just have to suck it up and pull this look off." Reaching for the door, she pulled it back, though in tandem-- so too did her companion. And so begins the standoff.

"After you," Evangeline waved a hand gesturing for Otis to enter. "After you," "Oh I insist," Growing more post in tone, a light curtsey was thrown in "Ladies first!" "Are you saying I can't take care of myself," "Maybe." Grinning, Otis snickered, there were some people heading the same way so he caved and swiveled in first, the avian following behind, "Yeah, that's what I thought." "Should I make up for this loss in buying you a shirt...?" Quick to shut that down, Evangeline stopped herself, looking up quizzically. "Actually, how about you pick me something- and I'll get you something, my treat. Does that sound good?" "Fair game, just don't give me food poisoning, it's all I ask." "So long as you make me look pretty~" Pursing her lips at the other, Otis rolled his eyes- though that grin remained on his face.

"Oh you know it, so pretty in leopards print-" Shoving one another, it was easy to forget about the events that had transpired not too long from here. Though there were two lingering thoughts that both parties were not sharing, as it was easy to get lost in the moment than to think about what was on the back burner. Otis didn't want to come off as pushy, or getting too close as to have Evangeline get pushed into the same box as she had just been. He knows that he'd kick himself if he did even half of what that last guy did, but it felt too soon to bring anything up about those... feelings. Maybe he'll have to retime when he'd tell her. Gods. He wouldn't even know how to approach that, Evangeline was larger than life-- he was afraid to risk his friendship. He doubted that the girl would have wanted any more crush-confession problems anytime soon after all that went down.

Evangeline, on the other hand, wished this were a date.
