The small Sphynx Cat Sugar made her way back home.  She had just finished an odd job for one of her neighbors and was able to make a little bit of money.  She tried to finish the job a bit quicker than usual, because she and her wife Koala had plans to go find Goddess Caches together.  It had been a while since they could go out together so Sugar was excited to head out with her wife.

Sugar made it home.  The house being a few sizes bigger than one would expect for someone of Sugar’s size, but the house was bigger for the sake of her wife.  "Koala had to store all her love for her wife somewhere.  Where else would all the love go?"  That’s at least how Koala saw it.  She loved everything about her wife and wouldn’t change a single thing about her.

“I’m home!” Sugar called as she walked into the house.  Koala came up from the living room to greet her wife.

“How was work?” she asked, giving Sugar a hug.

“It was the same as usual, now I’m already to go and look for Goddess Caches but we shouldn’t be out for too long, the snow's building up.” Sugar smiled.

“Alright.” Koala purred.

And with that they started to head out on their search.

They spent about an hour outside when the temperature started to drop and snow started to fall.

“Starting to build up fast.” Koala grunted looking at the piling snow around them.

“It isn’t safe to wander out in a storm like this,  I saw a cave over there that we can stay in until the storm dies down.” Sugar smiled, pointing toward a rock formation not too far from the two.

It took Sugar and Koala about ten minutes to make their way towards the cave.  The heavy snow making it hard to walk.  Sugar stopped at the entrance of the cave and gestured for her wife to step in.  Although Koala surprised her by picking her up and carrying her into the cave with her.

Sugar let out a small ‘eep’ and had blushed a little bit, but got comfortable in Koala’s arms as she took a seat at the back of the cave.

They sat there cuddled together for what only felt like minutes, but turned out to be a few hours.  They didn’t have to worry too much about the cold while inside the cave.  The cave provided enough shelter and their fur kept them warm.

To Sugar, this was pure bliss.  She felt so warm cuddling with her wife.  Despite the two being snowed in a cave, she wouldn’t wish to be anywhere else.  The two didn’t say a word, their silence was a sign of how comfortable they were with each other.  They didn’t need to say anything, you could feel the love emitting from them just being together.

Sugar woke up, she didn’t even know she fell asleep.  She looked up to see Koala was still asleep, so she slowly got out of her lover’s lap to go and check on the snow.

As she made her way to the opening of the cave, she started to feel the cold from the outside.  She missed Koala’s warmth but she knew if she didn’t get up to check, they might never leave.  She finally got to the cave entrance and saw that the snow had stopped and it didn’t build up as much as she thought it would.

Good.

They could leave now and get back to their warm house.

Sugar made her way back to Koala.  She saw how comfy her wife looked and felt a little bad for having to wake her up her slumber.  But they did need to get back home before it became dark out, or they would never find their way back.

“Koala, dear.  It’s stopped snowing, we should start heading home now.” Sugar said, gently shaking Koala’s leg.

Koala stirred a little bit but only turned onto her side, ignoring Sugar.  Sugar let out a sigh.  Waking Koala up always proved to be a challenge, whenever she was asleep she just never wanted to wake up.

Sugar stood there, trying to think of what to do.  Then an idea came to mind.  It was a bit mean, but it would get the job done.  She made her way back outside and picked up a bit of small.  Not a lot, but just enough.  She walked back to Koala and got into a stance.

SPLAT!

The feeling of cold snow hitting her face instantly had Koala awake and alert. Eyes feral, she looked around, trying to find where the snow came from only to hear Sugar’s laughter.

“Sugar?!” Koala cried.

“I couldn’t wake you up any other way, Koala.” Sugar laughed.  “Come on, it stopped snowing.  We should start heading home.”

They started making their way out of the cave.  A few minutes after walking outside, Sugar felt a snowball hit her in the back of the head.  She turned around to see a snickering Koala.

“Payback.” Koala laughed.

Oh it is on.

After a few minutes of throwing snowballs back and forth, Sugar and Koala laid on the snowy ground trying to catch their breath.  Sugar was the first to get up.

“Come on, we should really start heading back.” she smiled, looking at Koala.

Koala purred in response before getting up.

They didn’t do what she intended to do that day, but Sugar had an amazing day.  It was amazing simply because Koala was with her and she would cherish this day forever.
