How can I possibly be enough if she didn’t even know that I still love her? That I still care?

The sights and sounds around her feel dull and gray as though all the life had been drained from around her, leaving everything feeling cold and empty. Her hands move without her permission, looking busy and proper and fine when she was anything but.

Is what I feel not love at all? Have I ever truly given it to her, to anyone?

Isolde’s frantic words are enough to break through the surface, and Keeva suddenly drops everything and moves with purpose to the door, but it is as though her soul is moving without her and her thoughts lay elsewhere entirely.

Maybe I really do deserve to feel this pain after all.

Keeva doesn’t bother waiting for Lancelot as she steps out the door without a word, staring ahead without really seeing.

If the ones I care for most don’t feel loved —

She ignores his mental prodding, sweeping his concerns from her mind.
