You were gone for a day. 

Then days turned into weeks, turned into months, turned into endless waiting. We gave our endless patience.

I held the picture in my hands, studying someone I used to be so familiar with. As we tried to imitate you in your absence, all of our perceptions of you twisted, and we forgot who you truly were.

Friend, will you make us continue to wait? The center pillar of this structure we hold up is now removed, and we struggle to hold up the crumbling ceiling. Everyone here keeps putting their faith in patience. However, it’s starting to look a little bleak as we fall apart at the seams.

Until I find something better — or until you come back — I will continue to wait it out.
