1. With the right equipment, cold weather is no problem.

When one is simply trying to survive, cold is a formidable enemy, but if handled correctly, far from the greatest threat one might face. Spite grew up in the coldest reaches of the Sunless Jungle; in a settlement cast in constant chilling shadow and often blanketed in a dismal snowfall. Winters were cold; yet, in the town’s constant struggle to survive the Witch Finders and the constant threat of the Order, what time did anyone have to care about the chill? Spite was well accustomed to bundling up, shaking a dusting of snow from her wings, and moving on with her day. There was no time for dwelling on the freezing temperatures: there was training to complete, defenses to fortify. A war to be won.

To this day, though she has left the cold of the Sunless Jungle behind her and ventured to Ivras’s warmer climates, Spite still wears her favorite scarf. The same one that kept her warm during early morning sparring and late-night survival training; one that fit snuggly under her armor during battle and that hung by the door when she rested at home. It is a piece of her past she carries with her; a comfort in its weight and presence that she cannot let go. Though the northern climate often leaves her overheated, she keeps the scarf wound loosely around her neck. Though the winters here are far less severe, she knows well the value of good equipment.
