Emberpaw's Medic Apprenticeship

The air was chilly and the stars shone bright. The moon was peeking out behind the trees. It was getting close to moon high and Emberpaw knew that she would be heading to the Mirror Pool to obtain her apprenticeship soon. Leafsong stepped out of their den and approached Emberpaw, setting some herbs in front of them. “These are traveling herbs! They will help give you strength to get to the Mirror Pool.” Emberpaw sniffed at them. They smelled kind of yucky but they reluctantly lapped up the herbs, cringing at the taste. Leafsong snorted at Emberpaw before getting up and nodding to Emberpaw. She knew it was time to go. The two exited camp. The grass wet from the rain earlier in the day. The sky was a deep blue, lit up by starclan warriors shining in the sky. The trees were full of fruit. Green Leaf was Emberpaw’s favorite time of the year as it was so common to find apples near the camp, apples were Emberpaw’s favorite. Leafsong was quiet as they led the way. It wasn’t unusual for Leafsong but it made Emberpaw nervous. As the moon slowly slid across the sky. They passed into RoseliClan territory, Emberpaw hoped they wouldn't run into a patrol. Medics were always free to pass though territory to get to the Mirror Pool but sometimes Warriors thought with their claws rather than their brains. Leafsong looked back and smiled at Emberpaw. Emberpaw smiled back nervously. Before she knew it, they came across a cave. Emberpaw had never seen it before but she knew immediately that it was the entrance to the Mirror Pool. The two Pokemon stepped inside. The pool sparkled in the moonlight and looked gorgeous reflecting the stars. Suddenly movement caught Emberpaw’s eye at the back of the cave, Out came Berrymoss, holding some herbs. She spotted Leafsong and smiled. “Welcome back, Leafsong!” She cheerfully greeted the senior medic. Her eyes then turned to look at Emberpaw. “Oh my goodness! You’re getting your first apprentice!” Emberpaw looked away shyly. Berrymoss’s voice softened. “It’s ok little one. I’m not going to bite.” She set down her herbs and walked towards the mirror pool. She signaled Emberpaw and Leafsong to come forward. “Joypaw, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of StarClan as a medicine cat?” Emberpaw swallowed back her fears and let her voice ring out. “It is” , Leafsong shifted next to the Mirror Pool. “Then come forward.” Emberpaw walked up to the Mirror Pool and touched her nose to the water. “Warriors of StarClan, I present you with this apprentice. They have chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant them your wisdom and insight so that they may understand your ways and heal their Clan in accordance with your will” Emberaw closed her eyes, hoping that Starclan would accept her. She waited for what felt like ages. She grumbled to herself and opened her eyes, expecting to see the Mirror Pool. but instead she saw pastel green grass and stars all around her. Her annoyance turned into excitement. Starclan has accepted her!
