After a mission, your manager brought you back to life. Now, the two of you sit drinking wine together, before you ask to learn more about her. Orpheus smiles, and begins to speak.

"Oh? You wanna know about me?" Orpheus chuckles, the glass in her hand swirling the cheap wine within. "I suppose you'd want to know about your dear manager eventually. I bring you back, but never ask for a thing, and Limbus Company isn't where I've been born and bred..."

She sips the wine and sighs, the gesture making those white locks shift in the light as those wine-colored eyes gaze at you. "Never knew my parents. Not a lot of us did, in the Underworld...that underground place in the Outskirts. Those before me had built a town there, a shelter for people who had become exiled. As a baby in the Outskirts, well, I may as well have been an exile until a certain point.

The ol' head honcho was known as Haides, and his wife Persephatta. You had to really impress them to get them to look your way, and some people did...and some didn't. That was the way things were for people like us. You were either trustworthy, or you weren't. You were useful, or you weren't."

Those eyes lowered to her wine. "I wasn't a fighter. I helped people, yeah, but my talent was with my voice...my voice and my music. It rejuvenated people, they said, but I'd felt like something was still missing. That is, until she arrived."

Orpheus uses a finger to gesture you closer, and when you do, she lowers your voice. "Eurydice. My muse. My beloved. She drew out music from me as easily as the Head would draw out your every secret, child. When we sung together, our harmonies could make a crowd weep." Those lashes flutter, before her eyes close. "...they made Haides weep, too.

We were happy, for a while, until some lab began to cook up trouble. That was when...that was when the Arbiter had arrived.

She came knocking and looking for answers, and when she didn't get any, she began to total the Underworld. A humble little town, brought to its knees in mere minutes. Haides and Persephatta only barely drove her away.

...but not before she took Eurydice."

Author's Notes

Anyway, yes, the Arbiter in question was Garion, who was looking for the lab in the Outskirts where Ayin was working.
