She opened her door and the scenery had changed. The dark brown trees that used to have multicolored leaves was now just a tree with cold branches. The ground no longer filled with the colorful leaves instead the pure white cold snow had taken its place. Her clothes would keep her warmth intact and away from the frostbitten chilly weather. She started to walk around the town, her eyes observing her surroundings. The world had changed from the snow, colorful life now taken and vanished. Today, her mood felt like the weather itself. She didn't want to greet her neighbors nor help them with their daily lives. All she wanted to do was disappear, vanish, death. She flinched from that word. How did it cross to her mind? Why? She always tried to reassure herself that her neighbors would miss her. That her friends would miss her. But of course, doubt and fear soon came. That they wouldn't miss her, that maybe they wouldn't even notice or realize that she was no longer with them.

A long sigh drew from her lungs and she looked towards the ground. How would it feel to die from the cold? How long would it take? Would anyone find her body buried with the cold and white snow? She laid down upon the snow. Her eyes watching the dark and dreary gray sky that filled the ground with more snow. Her mind just now blank, no thoughts just silence and the cold. She shut her eyes, letting the time pass by. It was cold and her clothes were starting to suck in moisture from the snow.

Make me disappear… You, snow that everyone fears. But you, you will wipe away my tears. For you will take my soul and make everyone’s life more clear.” She softly whispered.

A voice replied to her bittersweet and saddening poem, “Stop thinking like that right this instant, dreamling.”

Her eyes shot wide open and she sat up quickly, looking behind her. She knew that voice anywhere and looked for the familiar face but saw no one just the same sad and bleak scenery.

Foolish, is what she thought for hoping that maybe he was real and somehow came from her dreams and into her reality. She now looked at her lap and saw little bits and pieces of snow on her pants. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw something shine and glimmer. Gold, a gold rose was beside her cold body. She looked at it like it was a miracle that brought her back to life. She reached out to it and touched it petals. Warm and a very sweet smell filled her senses. A smile crossing her face as she thought of him, hoping that maybe she would get to see him in her dreams if she lived another day.
