Summer aermerea Prompt - Cooling off

The heat of summer hung thick in the humid air. It felt like seep through aldrin's skin melting it right off the bone until he was but a puddle on the floor. He sighed closing his eyes a moment tugging at his collar. He thought about what to do for the day leaning back in his chair. He didn't want Yuna out playing in that heat. She was so small he worried about her overheating. She did only come up to about his knee in height. Maybe he could take her to an indoor pool... or he had heard of portable snow magic devices that were all the rage in the city. Snow magic did sound appealing.

as he reached his decision he stood from his chair. His bright blue eyes flitted around looking for his little sister. He could see her little tail flicking from behind one of the chairs and he smiled. He crept over as quiet as he could and scooped her up into his arms from where she was playing. "Hey princess... do you want to play in the other room with a bit of snow magic" he hummed softly watching as she batted at his hat's ribbon.

"Yeah big bro" she cheered before hugging him tight as she could. He rubbed a bit of dust off her face bouncing her in his arms as he carried her into the other room.

"what do you want to do in the snow first?" he asked.

"Snowbrother!! I wanna make a snow brother" she cheeed flinging her arms in the air and wiggling a little. He chuckled a genuine smile on his face as he held her. He kissed her on the forehead gently.

"whose big bro's little snow purr-princess?" he chuckled setting her down and sweeping stray curls out of her face. She smiled and pointed to herself before darting around his legs to put her toys on the couch in preparation for whatever snow he was going to get to fill the room.

He took his hat off setting it on the hat rack and made his way over to the cupboard decorated with stickers. He glanced over at her a moment. She looked so much better now than when he first met her. a twinge of sentiment hit his heart as he thought back to the day they met. She had been lost... alone in the world, run away from home with a tiny pink plastic toy case and only the clothes she was wearing. The stickers on the case had begun to peel from the rain. The goddess had given him to her. He was all she needed, a big brother that resembled the idols on the screens she saw in the store windows. He remembered holding an umbrella over there that day and promising he'd protect her.

Everything in this apartment was a paradise safe from the past he made just for her. He hoped that things could stay the way they were forever sometimes. He always felt so nervous about when she'd start school soon. although his boyfriend certainly seemed to believe she'd do well. He tried to focus again on what he was doing rummaging through the trinkets in the cupboard to get a little gold sphere with metal panels and a tiny musicbox key. He had bought it on one of his trips, a little temporary snow magic device. He began to turn the key and the metal panels parted to reveal  a slowly turning snowglobe with a little tree inside. Snow began to fall from the ceiling. He set it atop the living room table as Yuna darted towards him excitedly doing little spinning skips in the snow. "Bro bro call everyone to come play with us!! Your band and special person!! everyone!! " she begged. He ruffled her hair.

"Fine fine I will but I swear if some of those idiots say anything stupid I'm tossing them back out in the heat" he replied.
