req is a viral infection that compromises the brain of it's victim, like rabies or kuru, it modifies how a person behaves gradually. 

req primarily effects the parietal lobe, somewhat rotting it. other lobe areas are also affected, although not rotted. those with req typically show common results of the inability to obtain fevers, and little to no pain sense. they're extremely weakened against heat, such as fire, one of the few things that can severely injure or kill them. 

it impairs a persons emotional ability, primarily in terms of making them incredibly crude and mean. people with req are prone to have violent outbursts, and bloodhunger. they may also be socially inept.  

req can come in several subtypes, two of which that exist currently are the normal type and the hardened type. 

tew batali is a habitant for normal req, and has 'cured' the illness. he lives with it, although he's subverted expectations of the disease resulting in himself or others dying. he has a great control over his req, able to manipulate his blood perfectly, and even create life from it with ease.

nesiah markov on the other hand has hardened req, their blood hardens with exposure to air, and has an incredibly high melting point. they're younger, and struggle with the disease greatly; the mental effects drive them towards self destructive and harmful behaviors towards others out of their control. they have a much less smart grasp of their req, knowing only a few basic tricks with their blood. they're able to detach limbs at will, the limb will float with little to no movement, although nesiah still keeps control of their limbs when they're detached, the exposed flesh of their arm will harden causing a hollow limb full of free flowing blood which is powerful enough to make their limbs float around as they please, but hard enough to bust someones brains in. 

qer is the start of all this, a man who's existence dates back to the 1800s alongside 'the old man' who is responsible for an opposite counterpart, chorm. they are extremely distasteful of eachother. 

qer has caused many tragedies, a man who could take on several forms after his demonic revival from death, in history he's been known as a magician primarily. history books date weird horror-ish scenarios that the magician 'matthias' would cause, disappearances were frequent during the time he 'lived'. although, he's also had many other identities, such as several instances where he caused mass suicide by taking form of a cult leader. 

he is hardly human, and rather a leech that loves control and tragedy. due to this, he typically takes on a friendly human-like appearance, although his most 'real' form he can physically take is an older man with dullen purple skin. 

qer was the first to have req, and (in canonical terms, as opposed to my AU where req is widespread) rarely spread it to anyone, although a mask he inhabited for several years worn by a dumb kid (tew) caused tew to become infected violently and rapidly, nearly killing him. in a way it was akin to releasing a violent spirit. 

req physically can be very noticeable in late stages, but in early stages relatively unnoticeable. tew's eyes have turnt to several slits of eye which can each individually move and see on their own, and nesiah's eyes turn a black color when the req is inactive mainly manifesting in their eyes, only for their eyes to turn to their real color (green) when the req is being used or active. 

req causes violent blemishes of blackened bulging veins when it worsens, and a darkened blood color, although as it gets worse the blood will usually turn fully black. 

req gets worse when the user does more violent things, causing the things mentioned above but also painful symptoms like vomit, cramping, chills, and spewing blood.
