Mentor initiation

Mei heard of a fire mentor to teach her the ways of fire magic. She is determined to learn smoke magic to help her incense shop flourish but she needs to learn fire first. After a long travel she sees a soft glow in the distance. “That must be giyas the fire mentor…” she says under her breath. She cautiously approaches the glow and finds the mentor sitting in front of a campfire. “Excuse me sir? You wouldn't perhaps happen giyas would you? I am seeking him out to learn the ways of fire magic.” mei timidly questions.The massive cccat stands up to his full height, he looks quite intimidating till he bursts out in a joyful laugh. “That is I! I am giyas at your service! How can I help you my little ember” giyas joyfully says.mei relaxes seeing his joyful demeanor “it's nice to meet you sir I traveled a long way to find you, I'm hoping to learn fire magic from you and I was told you were a master at it.” says mei. Giyas chuckles “of course little ember I can teach you, it's a lot simpler than you think” he pulls a flame from his hand showing it in front of mei, she is in awe of how easy he seemed to have done it. Giyas smiles “it just takes a little bit of magic and lots of concentration” he responds. He makes the flame smaller and gently takes mei's hand and places the small flame in her palm. She can feel the rush of magic from the flame, feel it's warm glow, it's unstable in her hand she tries her hardest to keep the flame lit but it goes out easily. “That was incredible! I could feel your magic and mine intertwine to keep the flame lit…” she excitedly responds. Giyas laughs excited to see mei's excitement in learning fire magic “it's so nice to see you young skire excited to learn the ways of fire magic. Remember that magic feeling you felt and try to replicate a small spark. Think of fires and hot things.” He gently holds her hands to walk her through the magic. Mei concentrates as hard as she can, she thinks of flames and hot things, raging fires and hot coals. Giyas gently helps her magic along and soon enough a small spark pops in her hand lasting a few seconds before sizzling out. “WOW I DID IT! DID YOU SEE THAT?” mei exclaimed. Giyas laughs “of course I saw I'm so proud of you, you learned so fast normally it takes a week to learn that but your magic must be strong and your determination stronger! I'm sure you will make a great student and I look forward to working with you more. For now you should rest and practice, we will meet up again tomorrow 9 am sharp!” mei nods excitedly “of course sir I will not disappoint you, I will practice intensely tonight!” She replies excited to start her training. “Oh but please don't exert yourself, rest is also important to this training” giyas responds caringly. Mei nods before heading out to set up camp near by.
