So this was made as a request by Dadofme, on Furry Amino. I just edited some punctuations and stuff. All credit for the plot goes to them. :D

"Come the hell on!" Dannuh quietly cursed. It was the morning after the 4th night of trying this recipe. It was a seemingly simple one, nothing more than a few common herbs, a root, and some incenses. She swore that she prepared it right, but every night without fail no dream would emerge. It was mysterious, Dannuh thought, how the universe worked. Maybe she could hurry things along, just a little. She had whipped up a new concoction she read about in a manuscript that was buried in the recesses of a decrepit library on the edge of a forest. It was supposed to bring dreams of the future. She wanted to know about this one guy's intentions with her, but despite her best efforts, the universe wouldn't give her an answer.

So she took it into her hands. Adding the myrrh and frankincense to the bowl with one hand, having carefully measured twice this time, as only a seasoned witch would. In the other hand, she wielded a pestle, savaging an orris root in a mortar. After the crushed orris was added, the rest of the ingredients followed: sandalwood, oregano, and moss. The parchment was stained so that the last line was particularly hard to read, but it had to be azurite. There was no other "az-" stone that she could think of. Placing the gemstone into the mix carefully, churning the ingredients together, and upon homogenization, she took a tablespoon of the mix and saved it for the night.

"If this doesn't work I'm going to-" Dannuh was cut off by a knock at her door. Odd, because she lived quite removed from anyone else. She took a peek through the round glass window and saw him. She blushed crimson upon recognizing the object in his hands, a single rose, and promptly slumped against the door. Maybe she wouldn't need to prepare that stupid thing after all.
