A strange Delivery...-Pacapillars

It's very early in the morning, the nearby barn's Kippys and Baas quiet as the first rays of sunlight just start to light the sky. However, this silence isn't shared by everyone as a young orange and purple Pacapillar named Slippy busies hersef with gathering together raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and some Kippy eggs for breakfast. She's in the middle of grabbing some strawberries when there's a sudden loud knocking on the front door, followed by faint, rapid shuffling.

"Who's there? Darling? It's pretty early for you to be out. I haven't even heard the Baas yet," Slippy says, heading over to the door, still holding a few strawberries. Rather than her long-eared friendly neighbor Pacapillar Darling at the door, a large woven basket, looking like it's made of wood and pine needles, sits there on the doorstep, a purple blanket with blue and yellow stars tucked over the contents, with a small paper note folded and carefully tied to the handle at the side. "Oh, what could this be?" She wonders aloud, setting her strawberries back on the table, taking the basket in, and turning off her stove before opening the note.

She reads out loud, "This Snekket needs a place, as their previous place was unsuitable. Inside are some things you will need to care for this Snekket. If you do well, this creature can aid you in your daily adventures and tasks..." She stops reading. "Odd. I wonder why this was dropped off at my place specifically?" She continues, "....in addition to the food provided, Snekkets are omnivores, though sweet fruits shouldn't be fed too often." She finishes reading the note.

"There's no name at the end, and it's typed instead of handwritten... I would think with something like a creature, whoever put this together would want this to go to someone they know personally." She pauses for a moment "...Unless they're one of my friends, but why would they hide who they are if they are? This just doesn't make any sense...." She goes quiet, just thinking about who could've dropped this basket off and their potential other reasons. After a bit, she looks to check what address, if any, was written on the back of the paper. There is an address listed, and it matches the one to her house. "So... it wasn't mistakenly delivered to my place unless they wrote the wrong address, which...would be odd to not catch. This is strange, very strange..."

Unsure what to do next, she clicks her stove back on, cooking her eggs and blending the berries and fruits with a little bit of milk and ice. As she cooks, she quietly thinks about what to do next with the basket. Once she's done, she looks more closely at the contents of the basket. Tucked in with the egg is a commercial bag of food, some homemade treats, a Patchwork blue and white Snekket plushie, and a small blue ball with a hole in the middle that looks to be a kind of squeaky ball specifically. "There's even food and toys....whoever put this basket together to be sent out really wanted the person getting them to keep them...I don't know where I could return them since there's no return information at all. Though I have heard Snekkets make nice traveling companions, and it does get a little lonely traveling alone." Having made up her mind to try to raise this Snekket, she properly unpacks the basket, putting the food and ball away. She wraps the egg up in the blanket comfortably near the heater in her room, close enough to stay warm but far enough to avoid burning. She lays the plushie next to the bundle, watching for a bit before continuing on to take care of things around the house, very frequently popping back in to check on the egg to make sure its ok.

After a few days of Slippy only going out from the house when absolutely necessary and for as little time as possible, she returns home from getting some food to the egg on its side, with a large crack in the side.

"Oh no-" she automatically says, rushing over to inspect said crack. "Was I not careful enough with them?" She pauses as it cracks more, a tooth poking out. "Oh, it's hatching!" she exclaims, carefully balancing the egg while a pure white face peeks out from the egg, facing Slippy.

"No color?" she says, watching the baby snekket crawl out before carefully moving the eggshell pieces. She quickly grabs a towel and walks back to them eating pieces of the eggshell. She pauses seeing this, a little confused. "Is the eggshell... tasty?" she wonders out loud, very gently patting the little one dry. They squeak from surprise at the sudden pressure, curling up some as Slippy dries them off a little before returning to snacking on the eggshell. Slippy accepts that this must be normal behavior and starts preparing macaroni and cheese for her dinner with homemade noodles and a lot of cheese, blending some strawberries as well for the Snekket, who has eaten the entire eggshell by this point. "Do you like strawberries?" She asks, pausing, "...why am I asking you like you know what they are? Or know how to talk."

After she finishes cooking, she puts the strawberry blend into a bowl, setting it down by the Snekket and tapping the edge of the bowl before sitting down and eating her own food, watching to see if the Snekket drinks the mixture. After a little bit, the Snekket does sip on the blend, managing to get it all over their snout in the process, needing Slippy to wipe them off again.

They finish eating as the sun goes down, Slippy getting some bedding and making two makeshift "beds" of blankets, the Snekket curling up on one. She lays a blanket over the Snekket, curling up on the second "bed" she set up, pulling a blanket over herself as the both of them doze off by the time stars are visible in the night sky.
