oh, oh, it's getting dangerous.

toxin knew his hp was draining far too quickly- barely defending from each attack, his scales splashed with blood. there was barely anything keeping him on his feet, aside from some lucky determination helping him endure the worst of it.

he was an idiot, approaching the floor with no other party members. they'd all be in a town a few hours out, at least. they were safe, for now.

all he needed to do was make it out alive.

the spines along his back straightened, thin dragon curling in on himself in defense, trying to pinpoint his next- and likely, final- move. he could hear laughter echo around the chamber, but the illusions dancing along his vision made it impossible to pinpoint where any noise came from.

when he saw one of his party members running through the thick fog that surrounded his vision, offering a helping hand, he knew this would be his last chance. reaching quickly with one claw, toxin popped the charm from around his neck, shifting nearly instantaneously into a human.

"i.. i like you!" the illusion of his party member faltered- the surprised eyes of a stranger flickering through the facade. toxin threw all his shame and embarrassment to the wind, speaking off impulse.

"i want to go out with you- i fought so hard to get here... please," the desperate emotions made his voice crack, begging for his temporary life to just last a little longer.

the fog immediately faded around him, leaving a stunned demon standing mere inches away, leaned close towards his face. he almost screamed in shock, before the exhaustion collected in his bones. taking a step back, letting out a tired sob, he knelt onto the ground.

"r....really?" the stranger- the demon- asked, making toxin cast his gaze upward. the surprised smile, accompanied by blush on the demon's cheeks made him feel a little guilty for blurting that out without thinking... at least he was lucky- this demon was his type.

toxin nodded weakly, lips curling into a small smirk.

"you're amazing," he breathed, truthfully commenting on their battle, and on the demon himself.

brushing off scaly armor, toxin hauled himself back to his feet, holding one hand out in front of him.

"toxin. tox, for friends.. nice to officially meet you?"

he was not at all expecting when the demon siren embraced him with far more enthusiasm than he expected from someone he was just fighting. oh well, he walked into this mess, might as well enjoy it.
