Luceat blinked slowly, looking around himself in the gloom and realized that he could no longer see the bright crest of the brow he’d been following. Now alone in the tunnels beneath the city he sighed. This is what happens every time he gets roped into some “adventure” only to be left behind. Hopefully this time it would be more pleasant then when he’d ended up in the nest of a very displeased mother serpent and nearly become her hatchlings midnight snack. Plodding onward already thoroughly tired of this Luceat thought he could feel a faint breeze. Shutting his eyes and allowing himself to follow the sensation the quiet browbird made his way through the labyrinth of tunnels until he came to a cavern. The space was dark, so Luceat couldn’t tell quite how large it was, but based on the sound of his footsteps that echoed throughout it was certainly massive. Making his way forwards Luceat froze, the sudden overwhelming sensation of being watched falling over him. Fear raced up his spine, even the faintest sound pricking his ears, there were legends of all manner of magical and mythical beasts living in the tunnels below the city, what exactly had he stumbled upon…

Taking a step backwards, fumbling for the tunnel he’d emerged from Luceat tripped over a pile of rubble that clattered as he fell. The moment his backside hit the ground a great rush of air swept past him, carrying a low booming voice “Care for? A riddle?” Luceat froze, a memory of his friends ramblings coming to mind, something about one of the beasts in the tunnel that offered riddles in exchange for treasure. Still trembling he stood up and dusted himself off, choosing to ignore that what he’d tripped over appeared to be bones of some kind. Stealing his nerve Luceat cleared his throat and responded, “give me a challenge then!”
