Chips Pt 8
Hey, that story isn’t quite right…
Once upon a time, in the depths long ago, there lived a deep sea Crook. He was long, like a serpent, with lovely pastel scales, and solid eyes characteristic of creatures who live where the light can’t reach. He didn’t know a thing about the outside world, content to undulate and paddle through the cold waters, seeking only interesting items.
Once, he found a large, heart-shaped scale, the likes of which made him uncomfortable. He was, after all, quite a big specimen himself. Anything larger than him was a threat, so it went in the ocean.
Then, as if he’d woken from a pleasant dream, he found himself in some kind of alter world. The waters felt bad, they weren’t deep and worse, they were empty.
“Oceanus, you formed in banishment.”
Interrupted, the serpentine Crook grinned sheepishly. “Well, that’s not nearly as interesting…”
The smaller, seal-like Crook rolled their eyes. “You should stick to what you know.”
