"A gift they said, for the one they loved the most."

Only a few days have passed since the basket with two kits got sent through to Narinder's realm. Shamura, his beloved sibling, had sent them, in an attempt to calm his anger, his hatred. The divine feline was not amused by this offering, but they would keep his mind occupied, at least for a little bit. And the more he thought about it, two faithful servants, ones he could train and raise, shape to be strong warriors and protectors, two in his image. That might not actually be so bad.

Narinder was getting comfortable with the kits around. Then something unexpected happened. A deja-vu, of sorts, when once again, an offering arrived.

He knew about the prophecy and his siblings' attempt to prevent it, the influx of sheep's souls arriving in his domain has certainly been a clear indicator.

In their distress of their dying species they started to flee, they started to pray. Pray for their gods ro forgive their sins, as they are mere prey in the claws of these beasts, living to be slaughtered, blood spilled over white wool, the Old Faith's last attempt to prevent fate from coming to reality.

Some fought back, to no avail, and in the face of death, they started to pray to the God of Death himself: The One Who Waits. They send him offerings, they send him worship, and prayers, and when their numbers kept shrinking, they sent him a sacrifice.

A last attempt to please the gods, their god, the God of Death. They turn the blade against their own kind, a young lamb, only a few days old, pure and innocent, barely graced the cruelty of the world, before being taken from its cold grasp before she could even experience it.

Narinder was barely able to handle two infants, and now he has three. Normally he'd sent them on, there was a special place for those that didn't even get the chance to experience life, before ending up in his realm. But something about her was different. This one was a gift, a sacrifice, for him. Not the Old Faith, not his siblings, him.

And he shall hear it's kinds' plead, and maybe, he'd answer it too.

After all, his current vessel seems to be yet another disappointment, just like the ones who came before.
