Perry woke, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. Looking around the room, she found Khadgar was gone. Where had he gotten off to already? The morning light was just coming into the window, streaking through the air, creating a soft glow. She dressed and poked her head out the door. Everything was quiet, save for a the quiet murmurs of people talking outside. As she stepped out, she saw a single violet blossom, floating in a shimmering bubble. Ever curious, she reached for it. As she did, it moved slowly forward. With a giggle, she followed.

Down the steps, out the front door and across the yard, the flower bobbed just out of reach. She didn’t even notice that everyone was watching her, smiling as she chased it, knowing the cause. Reaching the far end of the courtyard, she came to the well. On it was a note with a small rune at the bottom corner. “Come on a trip?” was all it said. She bit her bottom lip, looking around, there was no one to advise her. She looked at it again, her eyes growing wide. With no further hesitation, she touched the rune gingerly with a tip of her finger. Everything flashed brilliant blue and she was gone.

As her eyes adjusted to the change in light, a scene began to form in her vision. She was in a quiet clearing. All around her, tall trees grew with long delicate branches, covered in soft purple and blue leaves. They draped down as if poured from a glass, creating a gentle canopy overhead. A deep blue blanket was laid out, set with plates of fruit and cakes. A bottle of wine sat, waiting to be poured. All around, glittering candles floated, suspended in the air by the shimmer of magic.

“Good morning, Stars.”
