The innocent-sounding title of this piece belies the very heavy theme of your story, rather like the title of the 1999 movie “Tea with Mussolini”! Dr. Alucard and his horrific quest for immortality, of course, remind me so much of Dr. Frankenstein and his equally horrific quest for the very same thing.
What makes your story fresh and interesting, though, is following the clash between Dr. Alucard’s cynicism and Chris’ moralism with an unsettling prediction that leaves open a chilling possibility: Chris will not remain blameless forever, because he is only a mortal. After Chris ceases to be blameless, that creates an opportunity to harvest his soul for this nefarious research.
No matter what happens next, I will certainly be interested to find out!
