Longing.
‘Soon I should be able to go back and how I will cherish and spoil her until the end. I will take her on proper dates instead of just having whiskey in the library.’
The setting sun painted the sky in shades of blue.
“She would have loved to see this…” The Serpent mumbled to himself deep in thought, longing for his lover who he had left behind.
Perhaps he should get her something on his way back? Something akin to those crystal animals that he saw in his mentor’s room?
‘Why didn’t I take her with me?’
